Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand has secured a multi-million dollar, 40 month services agreement with Canon Australia to provide managed services to Canon’s server, desktop, help desk and other ICT operations.
Under the deal Canon has selected Fujitsu to manage a range of services for its corporate information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure support services for the 40 months, with a further option to extend the contract another two years.
According to Fujitsu, the multi-million dollar deal was secured following an intensive bidding process against a number of other major ICT providers.
Canon Australia managing director Kenji Kobayashi, said today that Fujitsu was selected to manage Canon ICT services for numerous reasons, but “importantly as Canon Australia continues to grow, it’s essential we partner with strong and successful organisations that can assist our business achieve our objectives. As a complete end-to-end solutions provider, Fujitsu brings a very experienced and mature approach to ICT service management.”
Five other vendors competed for Canon’s business with Fujitsu, with Fujitsu short-listed in December last year, and signing a deal last month.
Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand CEO, Rod Vawdrey, said the partnership will be a “real opportunity for both Canon and Fujitsu, as we aim to go above and beyond to help Canon achieve its business objectives. The two organisations have a good cultural fit with shared corporate philosophy, and will work well together for the common good.”
