MELVILLE, N.Y., Nov. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is proud to announce that it will now offer uniFLOW Secure Print Applets to support select1 OKI® and Samsung® multifunction systems2 (MFPs). The uniFLOW Secure Print Applet offers an embedded Secure Printing experience with a consistent uniFLOW look and feel to customers in certain mixed fleet environments, providing a single-user interface as users move from networked device to device.
Utilizing the built-in screen and keypad on the customer's existing device, the uniFLOW Secure Print Applet can help provide access controls to the device, and to print jobs, by requiring users to authenticate at the device using their PIN code, username/password, or simply swiping their access card. Providing an additional layer of flexibility, the embedded applet also enables print jobs to follow the user from networked device to device, allowing customers to release print jobs from compatible devices with the embedded applet installed.
"A comprehensive print management plan not only provides for security features and ease of use, but also flexibility, both in daily operation and in the long term," said Randy Dazo, group director, InfoTrends. "By extending its offering of the uniFLOW Secure Print Applet to Non-Canon devices, Canon is demonstrating its confidence in uniFLOW and its abilities to provide a solution that can adapt to customers' office technology, as they continually transform and grow."
"Canon is pleased to further expand our support for heterogeneous customer environments," said Toyotsugu Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. "By extending uniFLOW Secure Print capabilities to fleets employing certain OKI and Samsung devices, we are pleased to help customers take advantage of uniFLOW's power to help become proactive in the day-to-day management of print activity across their enterprises."
