Canon Business Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. Inc. and a leading provider of digital document imaging and office solutions today announced the release of a program providing a set of tools for In-plant/CRD environments. This program is in the form of a Web portal which provides in-plant customers who purchase or lease Canon imagePRESS digital color or monochrome production presses with the tools and resources that will help them maximize the efficiency of their digital operation.* In addition, it assists those shifting their business model from a cost center to a profit center by providing users with sales, marketing, operational and educational tools such as e-learning and mentoring programs aimed at promoting their services to both internal and external customers who require targeted and customized business communications.

While many suppliers have provided similar type support to the commercial print and print-for-pay markets, this program is specifically designed for the needs of In-plant/CRD service organizations.

In today’s market document owners are demanding more efficient and effective marketing and business communications. They need convenient single-source providers who can deliver on time and maximize their ROI. As a result of a downsized economy, many organizations are reconsidering whether their in-plants are solid investments. Right of refusal policies are rapidly disappearing and outsourcing is continuing on an upward trend. Some are answering the challenge by converting from a Cost Center to a Profit Center, while others are fighting for their survival.

“In-plant service providers represent a tremendous value to their organizations but often lack the business tools and resources necessary to help deliver that value,” said Aaron Hale, Commercial Print Industry Marketing Specialist, Canon Business Solutions. “At Canon Business Solutions, we listened to many in-plant professionals talk about their challenges and realized very quickly that we had an opportunity to help our customers be successful in sustaining and growing their operations.”
