The University of Southern Queensland has purchased a Canon ImageRunner Advance Pro 9065 to complement its move into new premises at the Toowoomba campus.
The in-plant printer will move into the new student hub in August, where the machine will join a Canon Imagepress 7000.
Acting manager Sue Hills said the investment was part of the university's ongoing endeavour to stay up to date with the latest digital equipment.
"The amount of work that we do for students every year is always increasing, and we are looking forward to moving into the new premises and putting the 9065 into action."
Paul Thompson, general manager for production printing systems Canon Australia, said it was part of an ongoing partnership between the two organisations.
"We will continue to work closely with the print service to ensure it gets the most out of our products and the Imagerunner Advance Pro 9065 delivers a fast return on investment," he said.
Meanwhile, Canon has put cloud connectivity onto the agenda with the launch of Cloud Connect for Imagerunner Advance.
The cloud system allows businesses to manage print jobs online and is aimed at office devices, but commercial printers that operate 8000 and 9000 light production model Imagerunner Advances will also be able to tap into the system.
Luke Maddison, senior product manager, business solutions, at Canon Australia said: "For the first time, Canon customers can scan and save to, and print directly from the market’s leading cloud services.
"Connecting to Google Docs and Microsoft SharePoint Online will help our customers extend their existing workflows and transform their processes with greater speed, collaboration and flexibility," he said.
