Can the Aficio 5560 scan

Yes...Sorry that's as detailed an answer as I can give you. I placed one of these in a print shop last month (Savin SDC555 w/ E7000 Fiery)and I know my IT guys had the scan to email working with very few problems (if any).

With recent conversations "Does anyone remember..." your post regarding the 5560 gave me a flash-back to the Ricoh 5560 of old. I made a ton on that box but ruined some good customer relationships. That was arguably the worst box Ricoh ever put out...1224C not withstanding.

All EFI Fiery controllers have scanning capability, though some may argue it is not as agile as scanning through the Ricoh controller.

Agreed. The scan to e-mail feature is not too difficult to configure with the Fiery. Although, the ease of use and integration of SMB and Scan-to-email is much better suited to the GW controller
