Can any one help with this Xerox question?

Print Around is a cousin of the Print Fleet, Print Audit, FM Audit family. Sadly, Print Around is from the wrong side of the tracks and has been considered to be a fairly loose girl although not as loose as her older sister Print Easy.

Means that if the user selects to print to a xerox MFP and the paper selection they choose or paper type is not loaded in the MFP, then the Xerox print around technology will allow other jobs that follow to be printed ahead and not back up print jobs. On our Ricoh devices if this happens it backs jobs up unless users know how to go into the print job screen list and re-arrange jobs.

This used to be the case with Ricohs but isn't any longer. Although not this way by default, the units can now be set to allow prints to leap over problem print jobs.

Canon & Fiery call the same feature "suspend on mismatch". Yeah, I know Pritn Around sounds cooler, but as the Bard said "a Rose by any other name..."

If there is real pain in this scenario & this is a key feature for the client, it would seem that there may be an opportunity to implement Ringdale's Follow-Me Printing

One potential "work around" is to check your Print Drivers for "Hold Print". Similar to the idea of "Private/ Secure Print" but without the need for a password, "Hold Print" jobs usually go into their own print queue, are prepripped and allow a user to arrive at the copier at their leisure to make sure all of the necessary paper is in the copier before they release and immediately print their job. Some copier vendors can alter their print drivers to make "Hold Print" the default setting.

On a RFG machine, have service update the firmware to have "auto job promotion." I think this is the answer to the original question.
