Has anyone ever had to compete with or install a copier that works with this software. Posts: 45 | From: Louisville, KY U.S.A. | Registered: Wed January 08 2003
Chad Junior Member posted Wed August 13 2003 01:41 PM E-copy was just a way to get push scan to email/computer/etc. before Canon figured out how to get it into the copier without a seperate monitor and computer. The canon i models are less expensive than adding e-copy. E-copy does offer a little more user friendly applications, but I can not justify the cost versus an "i" model copier. Hope this helps. JasonR Member posted Wed August 13 2003 06:34 PM I just got a training overview on ecopy today, what's your question?
Main benefits I see to it are... It uses authentication, It can communicate directly with the exchange server and pull the global address book, no limit on user names.
The i models do not support authentication. and eCopy is a little more then $1,000 more than an i model. Posts: 30 | From: nashville, tn | Registered: Tue January 07 2003

What specifically is their application? Remember, the 2035/45, 1224/32, the 2090/2105, and 1060/75 all come with scan to e-mail out of the box. If they are sending to less than 2000 destinations, and don't require authentication. You're good to go out of the box. I'm told there is a way to create a csv? file form you e-mail address book and upload to the copier via smartnet monitor.
If they require authentication or direct access to mailserver then you add Global Scan.

Docusultant posted Thu August 14 2003 01:41 PM Pete is right on the money. You can create a .csv file and upload. You don't get authentication until you move to GlobalScan. Posts: 215 | From: Reading, PA, USA | Registered: Fri March 07 2003
JasonR Member posted Thu August 14 2003 09:00 PM Yes... well the .csv file directions didn't work for me. So I called Ricoh, they couldn't get it to work either. Only tried once as an experiment so far.
Anyone successfully completed this procedure? Posts: 30 | From: nashville, tn | Registered: Tue January 07 2003
