Kansas City, MO — On Aug. 6-7, the Business Technology Association’s (BTA; www.bta.org) West district will host its annual Capture the Magic event at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada. The educational and networking event, open to dealers from across the country, is all about learning from industry leaders, gathering new ideas and strategies, and networking with peers.

The event will feature a keynote session by Nate Booth, CEO of Nate Booth & Associates, a dealer panel focused on the millennial mindset and five additional educational sessions presented by subject-matter experts. The event will wrap up on Aug. 7 with a Cirque du Soleil performance of the attendee’s choice: Michael Jackson ONE or Zarkana.

In addition, there will be time to visit with 30-plus exhibiting sponsors, many of which will hold drawings for great prizes during the event. Dealer attendees can also enter on-site for a chance to win one of five $100 American Express gift cards and be entered into the BTA District Event Sweepstakes.

Capture the Magic begins at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, with opening comments and the keynote address, “Legendary Leadership in Changing Times,” led by Booth. After the panel, a welcoming reception will be held from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Breaks between sessions on both days will give attendees time to visit with peers and exhibiting sponsors.

The morning sessions: “Best Practices & the 2015 Industry Benchmark Model,” led by Todd Johnson, partner at Strategic Business Associates; “Sales is Still a Numbers Game, but the Numbers Have Changed,” led by Gil Cargill, owner of Cargill Consulting Group Inc.; and “Are You Prepared to Engage Buyer 2.0?,” led by Chris Glover, channel marketing manager at Ricoh Americas Corp.

The final educational sessions will follow lunch: “Landing the Largest Opportunities in Each Territory,” led by Kate Kingston, founder and president of Kingston Training Group; and “How to Use LinkedIn to Grow New-New Business,” led by Larry Levine, social sales strategist at Dealer Marketing. Following the educational sessions, prize drawings will be held. At 6:30 p.m., attendees will travel to either Mandalay Bay to see Michael Jackson ONE or the Aria Resort & Casino to see Zarkana.
