Kyocera Mita America Receives Top BTA Award
For the first time, Kyocera Mita America (KMA) has received the Business Technology Association's 2003 Channel's Choice Award for Overall Superior Performance, based on the association's annual survey of office technology dealers. The award was presented to Kyocera Mita America President Tony Pater on April 24th at the OEM's National Dealer Meeting in Las Vegas by BTA National President Dennis Hunter and BTA Executive Director Bert Darling.
"This is the 14th year for the Channel's Choice Award, formerly known as BTA's Manufacturer of the Year Award," said Darling, during the KMA meeting. "The comprehensive survey that we sent out to more than 3,000 independent office technology dealers, asking them to rate their primary and secondary OEM, included questions that deal with corporate support, marketing distribution, product lines and digital connected products. The survey includes 27 questions regarding OEMs' strengths and weaknesses that are used to evaluate the four performance categories that are awarded each year."
Hunter said KMA was the recipient of the 2003 award based on its strong scoring in three of the four performance categories. "Kyocera Mita's products, solutions and industry leadership," he said, "led the BTA channel to awarding KMA with this honor."
"I accept this award very proudly," said Pater. "This is a great award and it is an honor to receive it. And, of course, we have to thank the many dealers who voted for us. We appreciate it very much."
While KMA received the top award — based on receiving the highest overall average ranking — three other vendors will be presented with the award in each of the individual performance categories. They are: Toshiba, Corporate Support; Savin, Marketing Distribution Policy; Gestetner, Product Line; and Gestetner, Digital-Connected Products. In addition, Muratec received the Channel's Choice award for Outstanding Performance/Secondary Product Line.
