KOLKATA: Japanese company Brother aims cornering 25 per cent marketshare in laser printer market in India by 2017.
"By 2014, we are looking at 10 per cent and by 2017 to 25 per cent marketshare in laser monochrome printers market," said Yoshiji Matsui, managing director, Brother International (India).
Currently, the company controls nearly four per cent of the estimated Rs 14,000 crore laser monochrome printer market in India of which share of laser printers would be 70 per cent in value terms.
"India is one of the emerging markets for the company. We envisage a significant demand for mono laser category (printers) in Indian market," Matsui said at the launch of company's monochrome laser printer and multi-function centers designed specially for the emerging markets.
The company announced that it would add three new mono laser products to its existing portfolio and these would be targeted at emerging countries.
