Does anyone know if it's possible or if there is a workaround to use the folding with the booklet finisher without the saddle stitch stapling?

My prospect would like to have their document folded and stapled on the non folded side so that they can mail their document. Now they are using a folding machine and manually stapling.

Have you or your tech disable the sensor that says the staple unit that the cartridge is out of staples, then insert and empty staple cartridge.

That should do it.

That is a work around I haven't thought of. Not sure if my supervisor will like the idea, but it is a solution.

The down side is that this will prevent any other form of stapling, essentially turning the finisher into a folder and sorter.

Can't I have my cake and eat it too?

I just demoed a 2238c the other day was able to set the copy display to 50. I input one 11 x 17 sheet in the document feeder.

I then selected the booklet mode w/staple. All of the sheets came out folded with no staple!

That's correct, I've done that also, it won't staple one sheet. I'm talking about multiple sheets that need to be interleavened and folded without stapling. Anyone know how to do that?

Depends what machine and how much money you want to spend. You could use a Ricoh box with an SR90 booklet maker. This will do exactly as you want.

Otherwise you're stuck. As well as being a firmware limitation you'll also find you need to staple as the sheets would move when being folded. (Cheap mechanics in a finishre!!)
