Fairfield, New Jersey, April 5, 2004 –
Kyocera Mita America today announced that seven dealers in the United States were certified through the J.D. Power and Associates Certified Dealer Program.
“The number of dealers who appreciate just how valuable this certification can be within their local market continues to grow,” said Michael Pietrunti, senior vice president for Kyocera Mita America. “This certification allows those dealers in the program to differentiate themselves within their local market, which helps to contribute to increased customer traffic and higher sales. These dealers are positioned as industry-wide leaders in customer satisfaction.”

These dealers join an elite group of seventeen certified Kyocera Mita America dealers who have the highest level of satisfaction in their sales and service organizations. The dealers recently certified include, Boise Office Equipment, Boise, ID; Business Machine Agents, Burr Ridge, IL; California Business Machines, Fresno, CA; Document Solutions, Ventura, CA; Kearns Business Solutions, Easley, SC; Network Imaging LLC, Southington, CT; and Quality Digital Office Solutions, Lancaster, PA, are the newest recipients of the office equipment industry’s premier award for customer service excellence.

Kyocera Mita America commissioned J.D. Power and Associates to develop a first-of-its-kind program for the office equipment and imaging industry. The program surveys Kyocera Mita America dealers’ customers and certifies those dealers that meet or exceed national benchmarks for sales and service customer satisfaction.

The certification program recognizes office equipment dealers for outstanding customer satisfaction based on industry-wide standards established by the J.D. Power and Associates 2003 Copier Customer Satisfaction Study. Certification is based on customer satisfaction with an office equipment dealer’s product knowledge, expertise in machine operation, ability to advise customers about their specific needs, and timely delivery of the equipment. Additional areas covered by the program are the ability to schedule service appointments in a timely manner, concern for customer needs and clear explanations of the services performed.

“Kyocera Mita is differentiating itself in the marketplace by setting a high standard for customer satisfaction and challenging its dealers to meet that standard,” said George Owens, director of retail and office systems for J.D. Power and Associates. “These certified dealers are proving the achievement of this goal with their actions in the marketplace.”

Certification is valid for one year, after which the dealer may apply for re-certification.
