BLP has invested in two Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro 1200 digital presses in order to deal with an increase in work at the mailing and packaging printer.
The purchase coincided with the achievement of the ISO 27001 information security management accreditation, which BLP said had helped it to secure additional packaging and mailing work for some "well-known brands".
Sales and marketing director Richard Farmer said: "We are going and actually seeking new business as a result of this accreditation and the equipment has increased the capacity that we have to deal with this."
According to Farmer, the Benton, Tyne & Wear printer is on target to reach £2m of new business in the current financial year.
"We are expecting a turnover of £9.6m, which is also an increase on last year," he added.
Konica Minolta's Bizhub Pro 1200 has a top speed of 120ppm at resolutions of up to 1,200dpi. It feature's the manufacturer's Linux-based operating system and LED printhead technology.
