BKS Systems has recently moved to a new office. With the growth of the business and need for a bigger space, BKS has relocated from their Rhea Dr. Plainfield office and into 13550 Route 30, Suite 206 in Plainfield, IL. Conveniently located off 143rd St. very close to downtown Plainfield, BKS has acquired a new address while all email address and telephone numbers remain the same.
Chad Holstead started BKS Systems as H.H Computing in February 2000. Like many start ups, their first office was makeshift and in Chad’s case, in the basement of his parent's house. His first step up, was to an official office at Rhea Drive in 2004.
After the move to a proper office and the addition of three investors, H.H Computing was renamed Business Knowledge Systems in 2005. With the expansion of business, new knowledge and support, BKS moved to the next level of operation and is now called BKS Systems.
The growth has been built upon the loyalty and referrals from present clients. BKS Systems is proud to still service their first client. In 2009, BKS took over the IT responsibilities of a small growing international company which now has a number of new sites networked over America with over two hundred users and growing. BKS has been able to expand from serving small community businesses to being able to support the large international businesses, which they do today. BKS has made sure to never forget those small businesses that helped get them started and they are dedicated to continue supporting community businesses at a fair price.
In 2010, Chad Holstead became sole owner of BKS again, with a strong foundation and business model. The investors split amicably and still act as a board of advisers for BKS and Chad cannot thank them enough for the support they have shown.
This current move has proved necessary for BKS. The business now employs 4 technicians, one administrator and a marketing/sales person. With need for a more professional and secure building for present staff and equipment and space for further planned growth, BKS is now prepared to move forward.
When BKS Systems started, they were looking after small companies and supporting in house IT employees. Although it’s still a core focus for BKS, there has been a shift in the industry over the last few years to cloud services and more managed services. BKS is proud to offer these services as well as the traditional support that customers have come to rely on.
Many customers think of managed IT services as an outsourced IT department. BKS Systems can act as a virtual CIO (Chief Information Officer) as well as provide that help-desk support to fix a virus or similar issues with 24x7 proactive monitoring and support.
This year in conjunction with Chicago web design firm Idea Marketing Group, BKS re-branded the company, changing the logo, rebuilding the website, creating Facebook and LinkedIn accounts, and producing regular blogs.
Continuing in the tradition of supporting local communities, BKS is a member of Plainfield, Oswego and Naperville chambers of commerce. Currently I am the President of Plainfield Kiwanis, and similarly many of BKS employees are involved in the community and service organizations. We are proud to have grown, needing our new space and we look forward to what is yet to come.
