Better Buys for Business Praises KODAK Digital Presses
KODAK DIGIMASTER EX Series and NEXPRESS M700 Color Press Earn Editor’s Choice Award from Better Buys for Business.
ROCHESTER, NY, July 12, 2007 — Better Buys for Business calls the KODAK DIGIMASTER EX Digital Production System Series “an impressive on-demand printer series that has great appeal for high-volume print buyers” and the KODAK NEXPRESS M700 Digital Color Press “an excellent entry point for print providers who plan to grow their business” in its annual review of digital printers. Both solutions earned Editor’s Choice awards from the leading independent authority of office imaging equipment.
Better Buys for Business evaluates hundreds of models of copiers, printers, faxes and scanners from all major manufacturers when selecting award recipients, but only one or two from each category achieve Editor’s Choice status, a designation for those products that provide the best performance and represent the best value.
“This award echoes what we hear from our customers, that Kodak’s digital color and black and white systems are helping them grow their businesses through new applications,” said Mike Howard, Vice President Marketing, Digital Printing Solutions, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “We aim to offer our customers a variety of innovative digital print solutions with the speed, flexibility and quality necessary to drive demand for short run and variable data print.”
Better Buys for Business editors cited the M700 as “an ideal entry level digital color press with high quality output and shorter runs.”
KODAK NEXPRESS M700
Launched at AIIM ON DEMAND in April, the KODAK NEXPRESS M700 Digital Color Press appeals to print providers who want to profitably enter the digital printing business with high quality short run color, web to print, and variable data print capabilities. The NEXPRESS M700 Digital Color Press offers customers the confidence to build color volume with versatile, high impact color jobs and migrate to other higher volume NEXPRESS presses with additional features and capabilities as they grow their businesses.
The four color press runs at 70 pages per minute for the full range of commonly supported substrate types (coated, uncoated, recycled, and labels) and weights (64-300 gsm). The M700 operates using the scaleable KODAK NEXSTATION V front end, which is built upon open architecture that accepts file formats from commonly used application software, as well as a unique, operator replaceable components business model which enables printers to manage costs, control image quality and optimize profitability.
DIGIMASTER for High-Speed Monochrome
The KODAK DIGIMASTER EX Digital Production System builds upon the proven quality, performance, productivity, and flexibility of Kodak’s award winning DIGIMASTER technology to address the demanding needs of print buyers for faster turnaround time, new and creative print on demand documents with quality and sophisticated finishing. The DIGIMASTER EX Digital Production System comes in four speeds: EX110 (110 ppm), EX125 (125 ppm), EX138 (138 ppm)—the newest speed model—and EX150 (150 ppm). The DIGIMASTER EX system also offers an optional extended paper supply, which holds 4,000 sheets of large format sheets in all three paper drawers, roll feed attachment directly to the print engine for transaction and/or high volume printing and the capability of outputting on a wide range of substrates from 60 gsm to 266 gsm.
According to Better Buys for Business, the DIGIMASTER EX Series’ “platform is a versatile, speedy way for customers to add high-volume production printing capabilities. The DIGIMASTER EX Series Systems can also print directly from raw files without taking the time to convert languages, enabling the machines to continually run without slowing down.”
