Beside the ability to batch print, what are the other advantages of plotworks??

Art- Why not browse over to the manufacturer's website for more features / benefits? I can tell you this: when we recently completed our first installation of Plotworks on a 3406WD, we needed technical assistance for updates and some deployment advice. The technical support offered to us from PLP was far superior to that of most vendors. Also, we were replacing an old Oce and the client's comment was that PlotWorks was the same (upgraded version) of Reprodesk. This is a good thing in my opinion. So the client's learning curve was virtually nil. By the way, they plot to hot folders configured for various sheet sizes and reproduction ratios; this was easily configured in PlotWorks.
Hey, this really helps. I was on Ricohs AF league and there is one short ppt presentation that really doesn't tell you much. I've learned over the years that P4P members can give additional insight like you have with the OCE repro and that a user is plotting to hot folders.
So, I guess this raises another question, are you stating that by printing to hot folders you can already have the specific paper sizes and reproduction ratios pre-set, thus all they have to do is send the print job to the desired folder and then those preset paper sizes come into play and the job is then printed?

Art- that is correct. The advantage of Hot Folder drag and drop is not only eas of printing, but that yu can pre-configure print settings for each folder. Same with Fiery btw, and many others, I'm sure.
Art, do you know how to set up a MPW2401 so you dont have to choose the correct paper source?
Isn't that what a Ratio controller could do in the old days, and that Ricoh MP W's isn't capable of today, out of the box?
ok, I'll try that.
Will it also work from, like AutoCAD?
