RESTON, Va., Dec. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Carahsoft Technology Corp., The Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider®, today announced that Amazon Web Services has authorized Carahsoft as a distributor in its AWS Public Sector Distribution Program, enabling Carahsoft’s reseller network to provide the complete range of AWS solutions to government customers. This agreement expands on Carahsoft’s existing reseller agreement with AWS and opens new opportunities for Carahsoft and its partner network.
Carahsoft began working with AWS in 2015, facilitating the process to make its vendors’ products available on AWS Marketplace. In June of 2018, Carahsoft announced that it had been named an Amazon Web Services Public Sector Solution Provider, making VMware Cloud on AWS and AWS services available through Carahsoft and its reseller and managed services provider partners on a variety of contract vehicles.
With its long history as a distributor of VMware to federal, state and local government agencies, Carahsoft will now be able to help resellers and managed services provider partners deliver both Amazon Web Services and VMware’s recently announced VMware Cloud on AWS GovCloud (US) solution offering. This cloud service enables United States public sector agencies to leverage a common cloud infrastructure on premises and in the public cloud to further increase agility and security, while maximizing the usage of existing IT investments.
This new agreement also represents a significant expansion by making AWS’s entire suite of cloud service solutions available to government customers via Carahsoft and authorized partners in the AWS Public Sector Distribution Program. In addition, agencies that purchased AWS solutions through Carahsoft as part of its previous reseller agreement can now purchase additional complementary products and services through Carahsoft’s authorized partners to address additional requirements.

Carahsoft is also authorized to support partners interested in expanding business opportunities by meeting AWS’s public sector authorization criteria.
AWS’s entire suite of products and services are now available to authorized reseller partners to sell to public sector customers through Carahsoft’s NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V, NASPO ValuePoint, National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance (NCPA), National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance (National IPA) and The Quilt contracts.
