Avery #5884 Gloss Stock & the Aficio 1224SP

A customer has tried to run the Avery #5884 gloss stock on the 1224SP and has failed. Smearing and dark bands.

I suggested that the customer change the paper setting to "cardstock", change the quality to "High" and select the "DTP" quality setting.

I have sent an email to Avery to find out what the stock is made out of. Will report when I hear from them.

Avery states on the cover and I quote:

"Guranteed performance in many HP, Lexmark, Textronix and other popular laser printers:.

They go on to admit that "cardstock" mode must be selected in the print driver. We'll see.

Has anyone else had any success with this type of stock?
