TORONTO and EDMONTON, January 20th, 2010 – Avanti Computer Systems Limited is donating its entire suite of management information software (MIS) tools, valued at $185,000, to the Centre for Excellence in Print Media at NorQuest College in Edmonton, Alberta. This software will increase the technical and business skills of students graduating from NorQuest’s Digital Graphics Communications Diploma program. In addition, Avanti’s contribution will expand the Centre’s training resources available to the Western Canadian printing industry.

“Avanti is an innovative provider of MIS software solutions to the graphic communications industry and we are thrilled to be able to offer our students the ability to gain hands-on experience with a software tool developed in Canada,” said Norma Schneider, Dean of Business and Industry Careers at NorQuest College. “Having access to Avanti’s software training will also allow Western Canadian printers the opportunity to become more productive and competitive in the global marketplace.”

"There is a tremendous synergy between Avanti’s mission and NorQuest’s goal of helping print companies in Western Canada to become more efficient and profitable,” said Avanti President Patrick Bolan. “NorQuest is recognized throughout Canada for its ability to deliver graduates that hit the ground running and add real-world value to their new employers because of the practical experience they receive as part of the program."

Bolan adds, "It is important to Avanti to give back to the print industry that has recognized our company as one of the largest providers of business management systems/MIS for printers.” Avanti celebrated its 25th anniversary of providing MIS and web-to-print solutions to the graphic arts industry in 2009.
