What if anything has anyone done about color banding on these printers when printing light blue colors? A customer's 3800 is doing this printing jpegs.

Check out the service manuals as there is alot of useful information there.
Reduce the DV motor speed 2 by 0.4% for all colour modes. This should remove the problem. It's caused by buckle becuase of a different speed of the transfer belt and registration roller. The reg roller is driven by the colour dev motor.

Is it a narrow band, ie. a few mm?

It is not caused by the buckle. Ricoh has so far no solution but are aware of the problem.

Can you scan your print, mark on where the problem is and post it on the site??

Adjust black dev motor speed. Problem is caused because the paper hits the fuser belt. Same as your AF2238.
I thought originally you had the other problems at the other end of the TX unit.
You should be able to adjust this out because it's pretty bad.

I've seen simalar problem on 1 AP 3800. It was with CMY, all 3. Replaced TBelt, set gear aligment and made sure all bias terminals were good. Ran line position adj. Fixed.
