AF2238c print quality

We printed the same document on the AF2238c and on the CL4000DN printer. Same drivers, same DPI settings but the CLP4000DN looks much clearer - the AF2238c looks fuzzy or smudgy - anyone else noticed this?

Is there a way to improve the quality on the AF2238?

Always exercise a copy an print calibration before sending a tech on-site. The user manual states that the system should be calibrated every so often by the end user.
