A print Kiwi and U.S. company to sell printers combine 3-D in New Zealand.

Ricoh New Zealand has been appointed as an authorized reseller of printer MakerBot Replicator 2 Desktop 3D Digitizer and MakerBot Desktop 3D Scanner.

Ricoh New Zealand’s managing director, Mike Pollok, said this was an exciting opportunity in what is clearly a rapidly developing industry.

“We are delighted to have been appointed by MakerBot to represent its products in the New Zealand market, not only because they align with our current direction and brand values, but because they are globally recognised as a leader in the sector.”

MakerBot vice president Mark Schulze said the partners allowed the company to expand into New Zealand’s market.

“It’s pretty exciting to be able to bring MakerBot desktop 3D printing and scanning capabilities to a whole new market across the world.

The first MakerBot product available for purchase will be the MakerBot Replicator 2 Desktop 3D Printer, designed for professional use.

Ricoh’s marketing manager, Murray Clark, said users could instantly create 3D models and creations.

“It’s changed the rules by mainstreaming technology that was once the preserve of specialists.”
