New High-Volume Workgroup Printer Features Enhanced Performance, Expanded Document Handling and Wireless Printing Capabilities
IRVINE, Calif., (July 8, 2003) – Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS) continues to strengthen the technological breadth of its reengineered e-STUDIO workgroup printer line with the introduction of the flagship model – the powerful e-STUDIO400P monochrome, digital laser printer. Designed with expanded features and performance improvements targeted to meet the high-volume printing requirements of large workgroups, the e-STUDIO400P replaces Toshiba’s workgroup printers, the e-STUDIO30P and the award-winning e-STUDIO40P, with enhanced paper handling and finishing capabilities, faster output speeds and new printing features.
Boasting a powerful 350 MHZ processor that breezes through documents at an impressive 40 pages-per-minute (ppm), the e-STUDIO400P offers a robust duty cycle of up to 200,000 pages-per-month, a first-print-out-time of only 10 seconds and an impressive 64 MB of RAM, which is expandable to a maximum 320 MB of RAM. These features, combined with true 1200 X 1200 dpi image quality, a new 802.11b (Wi-Fi) wireless printing option and a competitive price offering make the e-STUDIO400P the most comprehensive and affordable printing solution available on the market for today’s demanding and sophisticated workforce.

The e-STUDIO400P’s modular architecture contributes to its functionality in the workplace, enabling users to effortlessly tailor it to address a range of business needs. In addition to offering standard PostScript™ 3 and PCL 6 emulations, 10/100BaseT network connection and USB port, the e-STUDIO400P is the first Toshiba printer to offer a Wi-Fi wireless printing option. With Wi-Fi printing capabilities, the e-STUDIO400P offers users limitless opportunities to enhance business productivity by eliminating cumbersome wires, making wireless connectivity to printers and accessibility to crucial information, seamless. Mobile users can now easily access the e-STUDIO400P without having to worry about locating an open network connection or printer cable. In addition, the e-STUDIO400P supports a dynamic range of operating systems including Mac OS 8.6 or higher, Windows 9x , NT 4.0, 2000, Me and XP, as well as Novell Netware 3.x, 4.x and 5.x, making it the reliable printing solution capable of effectively handling any project and environment.
Superior Document Handling Capabilities
In today’s connected world, information is delivered at light speed and is processed in increasing volumes. The e-STUDIO400P offers a large paper, input and output capacity to address these high-volume, high-demand environments. In addition to an impressive input capacity of 4,100 sheets, the e-STUDIO400P offers a standard 500-sheet drawer and a 100-sheet bypass, with options including a 500-sheet drawer and a 2,000-sheet drawer. To enable envelope printing, the e-STUDIO400P offers an optional envelope feeder that simplifies the process of printing envelopes in larger quantities. With output options that include capacity up to 3,000 sheets, a 650-sheet output expander and a 1,850-sheet high capacity output stacker (HCOS), long job runs can be handled with ease, and a StapleSmart Finisher enables users to efficiently and easily produce finished document sets on the spot.
With its expanded document handling and finishing capabilities, the e-STUDIO400P is an excellent complement to other e-STUDIO multifunction product (MFP) solutions and can help offset multiple printing jobs to further enhance business efficiency.
The e-STUDIO400P comes standard with letter and legal-sized paper handling capabilities and accommodates a variety of media types including plain paper, letterhead, envelopes, cardstock and transparencies. A 21,000-yield starter cartridge also comes standard and a 32,000-yield replacement cartridge also is available in either a disposable or lower cost Use-and-Return type for added convenience.
The e-STUDIO400P is available through Toshiba’s nationwide network of dealers for the suggested list price of $1539 (USD).
