We seem to have a problem with the 240W paper cutters shredding paper from the roll. In my demo room, this has caused many misfeeds. I have even had a print exit the 240W with several little shreds of paper (approx. 14" x 1/4")actually fused to the image. Apparently they were laying on the paper as it passed the drum and went through the fusing section. From the finished print, you were able to grab a loose end of one of the shreds and pull it and the toner right off the page! One of my techs has informed me that that he sees the paper shreds in the field and cleans out the cutter area whenever he sees anything. Anyone else having problems with this?

I highly reccommend checking the waste toner port, the spring-loaded shutter where it empties toner into the used toner bottle. If the shreads get caught in that area, the toner can get backed up and cause all kind$ of problem$. I lost a drum, cleaning blade and waste toner screw because of this on a new machine with only 7000 Linear feet on it.

also, ONCE across with the blade when you put a new roll of paper in, or you end up with shreddies in the paper path. Whatever sied the balde ends up on, LEAVE IT THERE

Bandit is right on this. I was getting misfeeds like crazy at a demo. So on a 2 roll machine, I changed the 36" to a 24" roll and it ran through. Sure enough, the "dental floss" sized piece of paper came out on top of the print.

Also, if you are getting misfeeds. Look for loose wires in the roll engine. We transport our demo models around and the jostling caused the wires to come loose. Be careful with the wheels on the 240w too...not very durable (and in their defense, they aren't meant to be moved around like that either...we just had to find out thru trial and error)
We make it a common practice when, replacing a roll of paper. After manually feeding and cutting the paper the knife sometimes cycles, this is what causes the little slivers of paper. To stop this, retract the paper back approx half an inch from cutter using the feed roller. Then let the cutter and roll cycle.
