12"x18" printing to Ricoh IM C3510

I know the device is capable of printing on to 12x18. MY question is

when a client has a 24"x36" engineering or architect drawing and they select reduce by 50% will they get the entire image on the 12x18.

Most drawings have blank borders on the drawings. Any help?
