Re: Will outside Sales Rep's go away?
I'll chime in. Like TML I'm in my early 30's and have been selling copy hardware for nearly 10 years. I think good sales people as a whole are quickly becoming scarce. Millennials don't seem to like to interact with others if they don't have to and as most "print" decisions move to IT, online buying is already what they know. Overall it is a convenience factor, they don't have to submit a form to a website and wait a couple days for salesperson to try and up-sell them to an A3 MFP. They...

Re: I guess they ran out of golf bags
Maybe the next step for Ricoh would be to buy out P4Photel.com - is it for sale? Will it one day go the way of the Connectivity Cafe? It has obviously become the most imformative and active source for Ricoh family products. THANKS GUYS!

Re: SCANNER/PRINTER KIT TYPE 7500
I don't think the Connectivity Cafe' will ask you about options that are not mandatory. Besides that, by the time the new model is there, you have already figured everything out. For instance, how long has the W2400 been out? It's still not there and niether is the C6000 so it wouldn't have helped here.

Re: SCANNER/PRINTER KIT TYPE 7500
I'm the last person to praise any web site of Ricoh's, and once in a great while I find an error in the item numbers. But, Connectivity Cafe is usually worth your 30 seconds. It will alert you that the SR-5000 is required on the MP 9000 series.

The 2035e series takes the type A, item number 405414. Don't know if any service guys found a way to make the type B work. I don't see a File Format Converter option for the plain jane 2035 series. Does everybody know about Ricoh's Connectivity Cafe web site? http://www.rfg-configurator.com/ Click on "Configurators" and then pick a model from one of the drop-down boxes.

@ Vince With the new version of Cloud Connect you can now print Google Docs. The first version you could only print PDF jpeg and tiff.

Re: The Death of Linkedin?
True story: I met a guy on the driving range.....an annoying sort of fellow. We chatted for a few minutes and I didn't think anything of it. Next day I get a request from him on LinkedIn. Not wanting to be rude I accepted. Within half an hour he called my office name dropping my name trying to get an appointment with the owner of my company to get a crack at our 401K business. With the owner of the company out of the office the call got put through to me.......talk about an awkward...

Re: The Death of Linkedin?
Cant blame the guy for trying. We all started with hitting the street at 8:30 to pound on doors and chase most anything that moved. The nature of Linked is a way to connect, but its tough when a request comes out of the blue.

Re: The Death of Linkedin?
LinkedIn is becoming the new Facebook. Useless posts by people and political crap all over it. When you do anything business related you are inundated with requests to connect followed 20 seconds later with some sales script about setting up a meeting. I still use it all the time but get annoyed by it daily.

Re: CONNECTIVITY CAFE
For those of you who want to know more, I am happy to oblige. Carmine (great guy by the way) was involved when Ricoh moved the Connectivity Cafe website in-house. Something important that Carmine failed to mention was that once Ricoh took control over the site, they were expected to control everything. Imagine my surprise when I received word from Carmine that the website was no longer coming up as expected. Sure enough, when I checked it out, the site was not coming up. When I asked Carmine...

Re: Ricoh Model C2500 with SR3010
Your post referenced the C2500 in the subject line however it is in the pricing of the C3500/C4500 that we find a reference to the Punch Unit Type 3260. I hadn't noticed before but the Footnotes say that the 2/3 Hole Punch Option is for the SR3010 and SR3030 Finishers only but there is no SR3010 for the C3500/C4500. Only the SR3020 and SR3030 (as well as the SR790). Therefore, I assume that the SR3010 is supposed to read SR3020. The Brochure says that 2/3 Hole Punch is available on both the...

No - the 3260 comes standard with a GW controller from Ricoh only - Fiery is not an option toinstall on this model. The 5560 offers either the option of a GW controller or a Fiery.

It happened to me, too. I just went to the Aficio League, and I see that the link to the CC site is gone, also. It figures. Connectivity Cafe worked well, so of course Ricoh can't leave a good thing alone. (Edited by Shaja to say that was a cheap shot on my part and I take it back.)

I tried the Cafe link here and it worked fine, I was able to configure a machine with no problems. In case you don't know, the Cafe isn't run by Ricoh, it is a service they contract with another company which is associated with a former employee of Ricoh.

An employee of Ricoh’s hosted the Connectivity Cafe for many years. Re: Samsung m4580fx, it can do what?
It's a cool feature, but I'm trying to figure out what the application is for using such a feature. Why use a 5 or 6 inch smart phone screen to control it when you can use the 10 inch screen at the machine. If there is a simple device management app for administrators to use to manage the machines, I can see that being useful.

Re: Samsung m4580fx, it can do what?
Ok understood, but you could have your own personal settings, maybe your own personal apps for copy, print or scan jobs. Too new but many personal applications may come into play

I have sold Canon, Sharp, Konica, Kyocera. If samsung is just now talking about a mobile app, they are way behind. Which they have been for sometime. Kyocera has the best mobile app hands down. It even works with off brand devices on the network. HP printers.....manage print services. See where I am going with this?

Re: Samsung m4580fx, it can do what?
Samsung is not talking about a mobile app all of the sudden. They've had mobile apps for some time now. I have seen all the other mobile apps out there and Samsung by far blows everyone out of the water.

Re: Samsung m4580fx, it can do what?
I'm not talking about Mobile Printing, we're talking about a true android tablet that is the user interface for the new MFP. Anything that you can do on your Andriod tablet or smartphone can be done at the copier, along with some additional apps that are very interesting. I'm learning more myself about this new system and the capabilities.

I can see these being very cool for libraries, information kiosks and other public areas. It's basically a fully functional web-connected tablet with print/scan/fax capabilities. That's where I'm excited to sell these. But in a corporate environment? Not so sure... #1 I would like to read a whitepaper on the security risks of such an open platform... Re: Connect the MFPs you sell to any folder
When connecting an MFP to say DropBox, the MFP still doesn't allow for an end-user to view that DropBox's folder tree (without added software), correct? So essentially the customer scans to DropBox, heads back to their computer, and then searches around the DropBox folder until they find their scanned file - which isn't much different than the issue the end-user described in the first place? Am I correct in this? I've been looking around for a solution that can help with this that won't...
