Re: How to Win Against Direct"
Ricoh Americas Corporation (focus on 'Americas') lags behind Japan and Europe in terms of Color placements and Ricoh has developed incentive programs that focus on shifting B&W machines to Color (hence, the term B2C). Most Direct Branch reps tell the customer if they buy from them they’ll be buying from the manufacturer and they will have better service than any dealer! Take it from me, that’s a bunch of hog wash! True and true. Independent Dealers must indeed focus on their reputation...

I use that instead and havent seen a problem with it so far.

Re: Sharp has Serious Money Problems!
The 100-year-old inventor of mechanical pencils needs to pen a new plan to make it to 101. Sharp Corp. (6753), Japan’s biggest liquid-crystal display maker, put up its Osaka headquarters and some plants as collateral last week to win bank loans after its credit ratings were cut to junk. The supplier to Apple Inc. (AAPL) is also renegotiating a stock sale to Taiwan’s Foxconn Technology Group as it tries to recover from record losses and a 70 percent slump in shares this year. Re: Automated Tape Binding
One other key factor in beating the docutech on this application is that in a CRD environment, their whole world revolves around getting jobs turned around quickly. Now imagine spending $150,000 or more on a high speed copier that you have to wait for while it sputters out bound books at a rate of 1 100 page book every 5 minutes. That's reality. So this monster 130 page per minute hog has to slow it's engine down to compensate for the time it takes to bind the document. Contrast that with...
