Re: Post-Virus We Must Defeat The Zombie Companies!

Although I am 60% on board with your move to A4 strategy, most of the rest of the stuff you are posting is "knocking it out of the park"! I would like to see a poll. As a business owner, during COVID-19 would you prefer? 1). No lease payments for 90 days 2). 1/2 price lease payments for one year The auto industry is pushing no payments for 90 days but I think business owners are more concerned about cash flow for the next year. I think the correct strategy is to offer as part of your...

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

I have a few in the field, none with advanced services yet, overall print quality is excellent, the snazzy new screen is just that, once you make a selection you're back to the old style screen that Ricoh has had for years. I've not had the chance to add the browser yet since it is an option. I hoping to have one operational with the browser very soon and I'm going to connect with UDOCX and have some fun.

The system on the web ex was the new Ricoh CW2200SP Color wide format MFP, this is Ricoh's wide format version of the gelsprinter. A point was made that the inks have been reformulated to prevent clogging of the print heads. I think it will be hard for any of us to forget the original gelsprinters that were horrific! The only available option is an additional roll feeder and at $14k list, I think it's over priced. I have yet to see one in action, I'd like to see one in action, but it is...

Thanks for the info Jim. Yes they do want to do this. They have 15 users printing to a central location. I've seen the finisher piled up with paper, only for them to have to go through and figure out which pages go to which person. This will help them do some basic job sorting. Also, I con't believe I have to call Jeff. I would think this is a relatively simple process. Select Seperator pages in the print driver, and tell it where the file for the page style is. That's my real question,...

Re: NEW Duplicator with Paper Cassette

Jim Stocker ·
I saw this system demo'd @ Ricoh several years ago. Its development name is Ruby. As you can see from the picture, it is the same design style as the JP5000/5450, thus an older unit, not new. It also only supports UC6 and CPIF26, because it does not have the updated main board to support the Type 80. The product was deemed not suitable for the US market due to the fact that is doesn't have a large capacity exit tray to match the LCT, and the sorter limits you to run lengths of 40 per...

This has been an issue for the longest time. I have had many with this type of an issue, which is attributed to just a bad placement. We have had graet luck with the newer fuser claws, and assembly. But, the best results came from switching to a better grade paper for when they run color prints. Standard 20# will be fine for thier b/w's, but dont forget that with color you will have 4 layers of toner on the paper. If the paper is not heavy (stiff) enough you will see the paper wrap the hot...

Lots of problems with this machine with the push style switch for the clam shell. Edit: I dont mean "real" code. Its just that that is in hex code and I only have A fingers.

Docusultant, I'm not sure what to think of PrintMail yet, and that's why I thought hearing from people who have used both PrintMail and PrintShop Mail would be informative. I will say that some of the functions in PrintMail are more complex to perform than I would expect of an application geared toward a general Office user (the suppression of blank line feature and the dynamic image feature, to name two examples). Frankly, I am concerned about trying to teach an average Office user how to...

Some more points. Windows Driver is GDI only! Probably very slow when printing pdf from various clients! Users can't stack scan like the 240W, the must scan and remove each page one at a time. Another waste of time! You must press the stop button after every copy (got this right from the OP manual). No Photo exposure, no text photo, all I saw in the manual was three adjustments for Contrast and three adjustments for Exposure. Shaft Paper Roll! Hold onto to your back and clear a large space...

Shaja: So you're saying that the color machines run this weight without problems? How/Why is it capable of so much more than the Ricoh machines? If you ran this weight on a Ricoh (and it didn't jam which would be highly unlikely) you'd be replacing rollers and fusing sections like they were going out of style. This isn't the case on the Konicas? Sorry if this is a little redundant, but I have to find some kind of a defense to this objection that is bound to arise.

At the recent Gestetner/Lanier Alliance, they showed us the new duplicator. It is an auto-duplex unit, built on the same style design as the HQ7000. It's a 400DPI unit, with a built in RIP. It can only duplex 8 1/2 x 11 though. The way that it does it, is to burn the front and back image on one 11 x 17 master. It then feeds a sheet through to print one side, and is pushed down to the duplex tray which is located under the ink unit. It then gets pushed back underneath and around a smaller...
