Re: Are Copier Sales Reps Asking the Right Questions

Old Glory ·
As you said, this blog wasn't meant to cover all the bases but your comments about brand loyalty and brand/service provider loyalty are only true if the decision maker has been the same for each decision. If you aren't talking to the owner, you may be talking to a totally different person than the one that made past decisions. You need to know that before you decide whether to pack your bags and walk away. Also, in a leased equipment environment, the decision to stay with the same brand and...

The only ones that run half way decent are the ones only running 75K or so. Ricoh really led us out on that limb...but the reality is Ricoh's high speed copiers have NEVER been Xerox/Kodak/Oce killers...oh well...none of the other Japanese copier companies have one either... We uninstalled Service Pack 2 on one client, but this is a temporary solution to an ongoing problem. As soon as they update Windows it will happen again. Could this be an issue with your situation? I did some more troubleshooting on this machine. Check the power supply, I notice that the voltages were jumping up. My 5 volt would go up to 8 or 9 volt. Also my 24 volt would jump up to almost 100 volt. I talk to Ricoh about this, they feel that this could be the cause. If I replace the power supply or the power pack. If you are having this problem check both.

All you have to do is look at the competitive analysis (See Attached) between the Ricoh C4503 and C6502 against the competitors from Canon, Xerox, and KM to see how much of a difference True Adobe PostScript makes in the printing speed. Emulation machines are noticeably slower, to the point that you could argue that a lesser Ricoh needs to be proposed in order to compare accurately.
