Re: 5 Questions for HP about the Acquisition of Samsung Printer Business Unit

Art Post ·
I had the time at lunch today to listen to a recorded webex meeting from Photizo that offered up speculation on why HP bought Samsung. Here's my takeaways: Patents, more than 6,500 of them 1,500 world class engineers The eventual replacement of all canon marking engines with Samsung Thus, as there was much hype about the purchase of Samsung, I don't think was for the laser based engines, but more for the patents, the engineers, and the laser engines for HP printers. In addition, HP will now...

Any idea what an "in-cave stacker stapler is? Is this the same as an Inner Finisher which fits inside the body of the copier and takes up no floor space?

Maybe they are calling the exit area in the MFP a cave, because it is surrounded on at least two sides. The finisher then sits in the cave?

Wide Format Technology Update- The Canon TX Series printers and MFP Systems

Art Post ·
Just about a year ago, Canon USA released their new TX Series of Wide Format inkjet printers and MFP Systems. Canon has positioned the TX Series as a higher volume solution to capture opportunities on the production side of the aqueous inkjet technical documents market. There are two basic TX Series models available, the TX 3000 and TX 4000. The difference in these models is their supported print width, the 3000 being a 36” printer and the 4000 is a 44” printer. Both TX printers are single...

Hey, here's a good question for you.  Do any of us carry around demo originals anymore?  I can't remember that last time I even looked for one.  Back in the day, if you didn't carry demo originals with you were probably not selling much.  When it came to copying documents from the glass, I used to ask the customer for their originals instead of using mine.  Great for the demo, because they got to see real time quality of their copies.  NEW...

New "E" Size Wide Format Exit Tray for Ricoh Wide Format from Copier Solution Shop

Woohoo! I love selling wide format systems. I've been selling the Ricoh line of wide format systems since 1998, and with almost twenty years of experience that kinda puts me in the status of resident wide format guru with the Dealership that I work for. In October of 2015, Ricoh USA launched the MP W7100/W8140SP black LED toner based wide format MFP's. Just about five months later Ricoh USA launched the third model in the series which was the MP W6700. Basically the same engine for all three...

Wide Format for AEC Market & New Features I Would Like to See

If you've been selling wide format MFP's for some time I think you'll agree that the manufacturers have been slow on refreshing most models from most manufacturers. Aside from KIP with the recent introduction of the KIP 600 toner based color wide format MFP (multi-functional product), the others are just regurgitating the same tired outdated wide formats for the AEC (architect, engineers and construction) market.
