No, Art. You're spot on. I haven't had many jobs outside the industry, but the majority of the old guard is so proud of the way they've always done it & receives so much validation from other dealers with the same mentality (via BTA, CDA, SDG, et al) that they often refuse to admit the need to change until it's practically too late. There are ideas & concepts that I brought up 3-5 years ago that were considered to be "interesting but not really necessary" that we're suddenly latching...

I believe their copier market went south back in the 80's, the machines never ran like the other brands, You could get a machine like the old 1520 or 1300 to PM to PM but when they came out With the 1530 series and 3030 series they started down hill. What use to make me angry is their technology was state of the art. They were using transfer belts in that first 1530 in the 80's and they developed a lot of other ideas. But their weak spot, is the machines never were consistantly good. I am...

I quess that's why the system now comes with PSIII, tho enable the mail2print feature. I have questions also! Why would I need hot spot when I can have mail2print? Are there any other limitation with mail2print other than if you send multiple attachments only the first attachement would be printed and the fact that mail2print does not support hi compression pdf. I know there's the cost of the PSIII when working with the other mfp's to enable mail2print. But what's the cost to use the Hot Spot?

I believe it's an SAS model, but I could be wrong there may be something in place similar to PPDM. With the Ricoh's as long as you have the PSIII module you can forward email attachments to the device and the device will print the attachment, there are a few limitations with this. Not sure about the other cloud print except for HOT SPOT

I think Ricoh waited so long to release an A4 system like this for the fear of what it will do to the A3 business. I know my Sr. Management is concerened that reps will start selling A4 systems to replace existing A3 systems and drive revenue down. The perfect spot as everyone has pointed out is in the MPS world. This product will do well to knowck out the HP, Lexmarks, etc... I wish we had it sooner.
