So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

I've uploaded the doc file. Also, tech support did provide some very detailed information to me via email that I just reviewed. The main difference is that they are scanning via IP which doesn't account for the possibility of the IP Address changing.

Try this: Instead of browsing from the copier to set the path use Web Image Monitor to manually enter the path, user name and password. For some reason this works with Windows 7 when nothing else will. Also using the IP address instead of the computer name in the path seems to work.

Re: HDD Wiping/Reformatting

This could actually make it harder for the customer to change vendors. If it adds a significant cost or pain to the new solution for the new vendor to swipe or replace hard drives the customer may just stay with the old vendor. Customers always seem to take the path of least resistance.

Montecore, I have spent many years in sales and began networking our systems almost 10 years ago. Currently, I handle all of our connectivity and solutions for our company and I have connected and troubleshot hundreds, maybe thousands of computers. I agree, a technician can and should be able to resolve this problem. However, first it is necessary to identify the problem. This requires ruling out what it is not. Of course, hindsight is 20/20. If I tell you this story, it seems simple.

By a Nested Folder, do you mean scan to a single sub-folder? "In a folder hierarchy, Nesting refers to storing a folder inside another folder. You can nest folders inside of folders ad infinitum, but it becomes more unwieldy to retrieve them." http://www.pcmag.com/encyclope...ation&i=54516,00.asp All Toshiba product can easily scan as deep as you require into a sub-folder via SMB. The Network Scan path gets more complex but there is no limit.

From: Jay Sent: 9/6/2002 6:21 AM I think that is correct for W2K also. Maybe all operating systems. If you want to route a scan to a network folder you must configure the path in the SR Link client properties, and it must be running on the client machine. It can not be done using the Admin Utility.

I'm not sure if that has an equivalent in the UK. here we have the Consumer Credit Act. However, it only applies to consumers. Business to business isn't covered (except in a small number of cases). Sure enough, the "dental floss" sized piece of paper came out on top of the print. Also, if you are getting misfeeds. Look for loose wires in the roll engine.
