Re: 57 Days of Selling "Day 44"

Jason H ·
Love it Art! I had a day of running around with a networking luncheon followed by a training for a new device that I sold earlier in the month and stole from Sharp. I was extremely late to the party with this deal but they already had a canon that was very old and decided they wanted another canon and on top of that wanted someone to deal with local over Sharp and Ricoh direct. Then I was walking into the grocery store on the way home and got a call from a person I quoted a machine to about...

Re: Ten plus Tips for Cold Calling in the Field

Old Glory ·
My thoughts, some of which repeat what others have said, maybe in a different way: I cold call for information, phone call for appointments to a large degree. What I would add to Czech's 4 point list is to ask who they call for maintenance. That usually tells you, not only the company, but the brand, and if the receptionist doesn't know, then they likely don't have many problems. I almost always separate fact find from presentation. Too many reps "get an answer" then "do some selling", "get...

I always like to start these Christmas blogs with a small story about Christmas tradition in other countries. In Ireland, people celebrate Christmas in much the same way as people in the UK and the USA , but they also have many of their own Christmas traditions and customs. Christmas for Irish people, who are Catholics, lasts from Christmas Eve to the feast of Epiphany on January 6th, which some Irish people call 'Little Christmas'. Epiphany isn't now widely celebrated in Ireland. There is...

My morning started off the same as the last three mornings. "Got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head, made my way downstairs and drank a cup (coffee)." What Is The Main Difference Between A Professional Golfer And A Sales Rep?

Heck, I even wrote about Can You Imagine A Professional Athlete Operating With A Sales Reps Mindset? Sales is a lot like golf, at the core essence it's an individualistic game. You’re on your own. There is no team to pick up the slack when you’re down, it is all you. Yes, you might play alongside or against other players (sales competitors) and you might also have...
