Yes, I had the same problem at the end of the summer. Alas, I thought I was a great video game player, however with Aficio's hit the homerun, I managed a mere 200 points. You are correct, there is a different game when you get to try for the "grand slam". Boo's the AF league for changing the swings and also Boo's the Aficio League for making us wait up to 30 days for points to be awarded. Re: HP Agrees to Acquire Samsung Printer Business for $1.05 Billion

Here's something I picked up on alerts tonight: HP Inc. CEO Dion Weisler started Monday with a bang. His company, a giant in personal computer and printing, said it would buy Samsung’s printer business for $1.05 billion. Weisler’s hope is that the deal would help HP hpq better compete in the copy machine market and help offset declining sales of printers. HP said Samsung’s printing business brought in $1.8 billion in sales for its fiscal 2015. This number is just a fraction of HP’s overall...

Quite frankly I soured on them a bit too for the same reasons you mention. At first glance this machine fills a nitch that I don't have an answer to with my primary product line. Hanging in there hoping the HP takeover is a game changer and opens many doors doors. As for the current equipment I am not a fan. Keeping the Samsung name on the equipment moving forward is a mistake. The sooner they make us HP dealers and put HP on the front of the machines the better.

If you work with any school district this is huge. I have a school district client that has abandoned PCs in favor of tablets, chrome books and chrome boxes for the teaches classrooms and students. They run Google Apps For Education on about 400 devices. Printing is all done through Google Chrome. The benefits for a school district to do this are amazing. Unfortunately Ricoh was a little late to the game on this one.

I am dealing with this right now, my DBM is looking into it but I'm skeptical having lost two previous accounts to Ricoh Direct. One was a school district we had seven mfp's in Ricoh had one billable obsolete AF 650 so "technically" we weren't the incumbent. Ricoh has a lot of ways to get around their rules. Ricoh "says" the dealer cost is the same as direct but we see them sell at our cost all the time. Originally Posted by txeagle24: We've had issues with Ricoh finding (or try really hard...

This has been a great thread so far! We're a mid size dealer in central pa and have most of the directs knocking around in our area. TABS, KMBS, RBS, CSA, Xerox and now Global just bought a small dealership. In addition we have quite a few other Indy dealers like us. I whole heartedly agree with what some one said before about selling the value of your company, service and the relationships. We've had issues with Ricoh finding (or try really hard to find) ways around Rules of Engagement. One example I will use is a former customer I had that had all of their local Ricoh MFP placements with me but had a few old units from Xerox locally & several Ricoh units in a different market from RBS. The customer was looking to upgrade a Ricoh machine that I had placed a few years earlier. Ricoh went in and gave them pricing that was 25% lower than I could offer, & when we brought up...

Frankly in my experiences the vendor (oem) will try to obtain the business , then negotiate with the dealer if they are unsuccessful going direct. Sounds like the game plan they employ.. Suggest working those things out prior to channel conflict. Long range consequence tends to upset customer who then selects another manufacturer altogether. Best wishes to those who encounter these circumstances... Try settling before not after..

I do understand where you are coming from in terms of your data that A4 MFPs are destined to displace A3 copiers at an accelerating rate. I also agree that A3 copiers vendors need to step up their game in terms of IT support and capabilities. A3 vendors still hold a couple of cards that IT centric print resellers do not have. 1). Feet on the street, experienced outside sales reps who can make 20 cold calls a day. We are in the B2B business which to some people means belly to belly 2).

@printguy @Art Post We have not sold a single one yet. Most people seem to have no interest in ink. I like the product. It is a Kyocera finisher. The problem with the finisher is that it slows the machine down to half speed. So ultimately someone is getting a 50ppm system, not a 100ppm if you have the finisher. Space is an issue if you have the finisher. I talk about the product to everyone but most people revert back to a toner system. I don't think this is going to be a game changer as...
