Re: The End of The Day With Ray!With Leadership We Will get Through This

SalesServiceGuy ·
Ray makes a lot of great points here! I have to break this video down, write notes and make a plan with my team. Sales could be on the downward trend through to at least Sept so it will be a good time for sales training and analyzing/ optimizing internal processes. Ray says "What is the message you are sending to your internal and external customers about how to navigate through this Corona Virus" ... I am not sure myself what that message is or should be? What is an internal customer? For...

Re: COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Two of Sales

I was in a food broker warehouse and a sleep apnea clinic today installing new copiers. You can video conference all you want but some industries that require the manufacturer or trade of physical goods do not lend themselves to the digital life. Nevertheless, I feel that video conferencing is a vital new skill to learn as long as the Corona Virus pandemic exits. We can talk to customers on the phone, we can email them but often now we cannot meet them in person. Of course, you cannot turn a...

That was a great 45 minutes! Gave me a few ideas. I plan to watch again as there was a lot of content to take in plus forward to my sales teams. Really appreciate the recording. Two very informative videos from the CEOs of Konica Minolta and Xerox on what they are doing and what is happening with their companies during the Corona Virus pandemic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GbwTyfpX8s Konica Minolta has health care robots to measure patients temperatures walking into hospitals and to help...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Eighteen of Sales

Make no bones about it, I'm mentally drained. Jersey is still the same and I don't want to keep harping on what's going on here. What was cool today is Greg Walters & I had our third installment of "How to Sell Copiers in the Age of Corona Virus. For those that haven't caught the first three episodes it's basically me and Greg talking about what's going on and shooting ideas back and forth. What I liked about today is that we turned the mics on to hear from others in our Zoom meeting. We...

It's Saturday morning here in NJ. We've hit a snag in our spring weather today, although the sun is shinning the temp is only 41 degrees. Saturday's can be a fantastic day to prospect, whether it's a few phone calls, emails or inmails (Linkedin). Our job is to inspire clients clients that we all need to be moving forward and continue our determination to succeed. My Corona Tales from Today

Art Post ·
Yes, I went to the office today. Yes, traffic was light when it's normally jammed. Cell phone disruptions were common today with many "failed calls" in or out. Thinking that's due to the higher band width usage with many peeps using phones for hot spots or just on social media. Emails from clients after sending on-line meeting requests is low, emails from a few clients stating they are not taking ANY visitors. I had four appointments on tap for this week, two cancelled altogether, two...

This Week in the Copier Industry 5 Years Ago (Second Week of March 2015)

I arrived back in town from Aruba late on Monday. Yup, I took a vacation and rarely accessed the internet! Yay for me. To say the least I came back to state that is in pure panic mode with corona virus. Tuesday was not so bad as four opportunities went HOT. Did the work that I had to and subsequent days produced almost nothing, no email responses, no phone call responses and in four days I was only able to set four meetings for next week. Starting on Monday I'll be sending ZOOM requests for...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Five of Sales

I'm not sure where to start...., the fact that the tri-state area is closed except for essential businesses, New Jersey is now in the top three of Corona Virus infections, the 8PM-5AM curfew in effect in NJ, the State of New Jersey releasing 1,000 prisoners from jail because they may have been exposed to the virus. I guess my message to everyone is that every day that passes we're getting closer to the day that all of this will be over. The fact that I'm continuing to work and prospect (not...

COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Ten of Sales

Busy, busy day for me. I started at 7:30AM and it's now 9:45PM, I figure I still have another 30 minutes or so to go. One thing I noticed today is that the pace of industry press releases as slowed to a crawl. Tomorrow marks the last day of the year for most copier manufacturers, I can only image the deals that are available for dealers right now. Yes, it's one of those years that will go down in the history of the industry. Today was interesting to say the lease. I had 40-50 contacts in my...

Just a few minutes ago I completed my call with Larry Kirsch. Larry has been a Print4Pay Hotel member for more than ten years and has fourteen more years in the business more than me (37 years)! Incredible! It's truly a blessing to have someone in your back pocket that you can lean on. Thus, with out further ado, let me present our interview with Larry Kirsch. Interesting thread from ten years ago is the thread about Padded Lease Rates! Ethical or Unethical. Personally. I've never been a fan of this, and I also think it's theft by deception. Call it what you want, I also believe there should be some type of regulation especially when a "price" is published and or agreed to and then the lease rate is padded and the price is not what was stated. In a previous blog from this week titled How Many Labels Did We Count on the Ricoh MP3601SP? I wrote about all of the black & color labels that I found on one of our wide format devices in our showroom. In addition I just noticed that none of the pictures uploaded to the blog! Arrgghh! Thus, I will try to get those pictures uploaded this week. My point is that there are labels everywhere and we're just not paying attention them because we never thought that we could play in that market.

Re: My Corona Tales from Today

Clearly, the dominant story in the Office Products business right now is the drive to help people work remotely from home. Offices are now empty of people and there is little demand for work group copiers until the Corona Virus passes. I am seeing a big uptick in laptop sales and dealers selling IT services that enables workers to work from home. I did see this attached article.

The Week in Copiers 15 Years Ago This Week In 2005 I'm connected to a ton of copier sales people on Linkedin. For the last ten days I've been counting those connections that have changed where they work. First I check to see if when they left and where they went. In these last days I've counted 14 that have left the industry, almost all of these changes were in June and July. I would suspect that most were laid off due to COVID. Twenty percent of those that left were in the position less...

When will this pandemic end? Even with vaccinations Jersey proves once again we're in the top four with new cases of Corona. This Week in the Copier Industry 5 Years Ago Second Week of January 2019 Real Copier Sales I think a lot of the small operations are getting squeezed out because they didn't keep up with technology and like said, there are a lot of acquisitions. My experience has been that the giants created by these acquisitions don't provide the level of customer service that customers will get from a mid-sized...
