Re: Oki 1450 vs Ricoh 6700 wide Format
So, the Oki or Teriostar 1040 is one page per minute faster than the Ricoh. Oki wants the user to replace the corona wire cartridge and the process cartridge. I believe the process cartridge is the drum. Now, the memories come back, if an end user scratches that drum, it's on the user to replace the drum which is going to be a very pricey item. If I was a business owner I would not want my peeps handling a part that has a cost of $1,500-$2,000. If they scratch it, it's on me to buy another,...

Re: New MP C6000 & MP C7500 from Ricoh!
for those with acess to tessa website the service manual for the machine and the new hugge lct are avaiable for download or were when i last checked last year. Very similar to the 5560 but with some major changes to problem areas such as a corona on the k pcu instead of a charge roller and if they could have a waste toner bottle which never filled up this machines would carry on going over there pm lifes by 100 percent in many cases before we get first call

Re: 240w meter count?
Yes, the 240W only counts Linear feet, and the manual says the drum and developer should go about 90,000 l.ft. The corona wire goes 20-30k, drum blade about 40-50k, we regularly get over 100k on the drum, except for damage. There were a few drums 2-3 years ago that would give ghost image problems on large jobs (over 70 sheets). this happened when the drum was a couple years old, but only had 30k ft. Reprographic Technologies has a great drum that I think is superior to the OEM, and costs...

Re: Ricoh 2035 vs Mita 4035
Actually, the official PM cycle for the 3035 is 400K while the 4035(3530) and 5035(4030) are 500K. However, "everyone" does the 3035(2530) at 500K since everything about the three models is identical including the PM kit. The 4530 and 5530 PM cycle is 400K. The really nice thing is that the PM kits for the 3035-5035 consist of modules (throw away) that you just swap out. They are guaranteed for the life of the PM. At first, Kyocera was very liberal with this warranty but lately they've been...

Tom: Nice report on this unit! Kyo still uses corona wires? I would tend to think that they would have switched to ceramic charge rollers years ago. They are the world leader in ceramic technology! Using charge coronas emits ozone from what I remember. Glad to have you aboard!

Re: Kyo's Drums Need User Intervention!
Scott: Are they still using corona wire technology for the charging of the drum? Also is the drum cleaning still required by the end user in the newer units? Thanx Art

Re: OCE 7050, Can anyone help?
Jason, I believe there are 6 square ft. in a "D" size print. That would put the yield of the toner cartriges at 1,916 "D" prints. The developer lists for $441.47 and the yield would be 25,000 "D" prints. The wire($31.04 corona, $27.76 transfer wire) (blade $331.08)and drum are 32,500 "D" prints. A drum lists at $972.40 and are generally replaced when the developer is replaced.

Re: 240w background
I've had a similar problem for sometime now. I've replaced drums, developer, corona wires, cleaning blades, adjusted charge voltage, replaced hot roller cleaning roller. All of these will reduce the background a little, but not get rid of it completely. In my case, the background is very light, and uniform across the entire page. This background occurs on copies and prints, not on scans. I had the (former) Ricoh Tech Service Manager for my region out on site with me one day (we're a...

Re: KIP info re-post
Some things you will find about mono toner that you can sell against the KIP. 1. If you have large solids, such as copying or printing an aerial survey map, you will get banding. That is because the toner in coming from a magnetic roller and the roller can not be perfectly round, so the roller is closer at times to the paper and get light-dark bands. 2. Developer works like a brush and toner the paint. With mono toner you get a dirtier system, like spray painting. Dusty inside of machine...

The leads were being pinched between the stud and the chassis causing a sudden blanking of the screen and no functions what so ever.
