These devices were released in Japan, thinking we may have all of just one of these models in the coming months in the US

Does anyone still make copies these days? I can't remember the last time I saw someone use the copy function on an office MFP (Multi-Functional Printer). More than ever, users are printing and scanning rather than copying. But does this mean the copy function will become obsolete? Nah, it's not going to happen anytime soon because there's a boatload of paper documents that may still need to be copied from time to time. I get what you're saying but...its just a printer. Essentially nothing better than the 840dn it replaced, just an updated engine. The multi-fold is nice but also expensive.

@grizzlyadams ty for the comment. CARG for MFPs over the next few years will have a negative growth rate, while managed print will have a CARG of more than 9.8%. While it's really nothing more than the C840dn, the refresh was badly needed. In the US market place all we get is the IP C8500 while other markets will get to resell both the IP C8500 and the IP C8510 (55 ppm). Peronally I would much rather have the IP C8510. Thanx again for response!
