Tsunami To Crimp Toner Supplies? Posted by Lamont Wood Mar 28, 2011 06:30 PM In the short term, yes, but in the long term things will probably sort themselves out, predicts economist's blog. Amidst all the other bad news out of Japan after the recent earthquake and tsunami, now it appears that toner may get scarce, at least for a while. \t A Forbes blog notes that Barclays Capital is predicting that Canon and Fujitsu Xerox may soon face shortages of toner material due to the disaster.

Re: EastCoast Franken Storm
We faired pretty well in NH, just lost power for 6 hours, but our wood stove kept us warm. My old neighborhood (Gerritsen Beach) Brooklyn was devastated. My brother and my friend tell me that they each had 6 feet+ water in their basements. They say the whole neighborhood is under water. My brother had to wade through chest deep water just to make it home from work. Keep them in your prayers, it will be a while before they return to normal. Vince

Re: 6513 & real Wood!
From: Ted Sent: 12/3/2001 6:21 AM I have a sample of the wood. It is real redwood, that has been copied on. the customers love it. If you can get some of the wood for samples, I believe in a tight situation, running this through the machine could make the sale. Then you could leave a piece for the competition to run through their machine on demo. Who knows, the competition may be foolish enough to try it and it may ruin their machine. (wishful thinking).

Re: Frustrated with Inventory Levels?
Gentlemen, my VP of Sales implemented a policy of a monthly equipment forecast w/ product codes so that he could properly inventory those forecasted products so we didn't have the typical month-end scramble for equipment. We did this 3 months ago and so far (knock on wood) it has worked very well. Have we still scrambled for equipment for a deal that "just came up" and wasn't forecasted for that month - you bet we have. For the most part it has been very successful. It has also help hold the...

Jason, I didn't see that dealer communication. Either way, the iR 25xx series wasn't the best one out there in my mind. We try to steer customers to the iR 42xx series or to the A4 BW units. We've had mixed bag results with these units. The good majority of them in the field have (knock on wood) been running well, just expensive. There have been a handful that have been troublesome, with one in particular being replaced in the field. But you're right, these units despite reputation have been...

Avoid Insulting the Customer Obvious, right? Well, people do it without even realizing by using comments like "did you understand that?" and "are you following what I'm saying?". This automatically shrinks the customers' intelligence and ability to catch on. It is down to your own ability to make the customer understand and therefore if you feel the customer is failing to do so, use comments such as "did I explain that clearly" and so on. Art, I think that you know that I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY but I now live and work in New England. During Hurricane Sandy my old neighborhood in Brooklyn was severely damaged. Re: Golf Help!!
Art - Orlimar makes great "fairway woods". Normally a fairway wood isn't a driver (which is your #1 wood). If you don't play much, I would suggest getting a nice 3 wood to hit off the tees. Normally a 3 wood, because it's more lofted face, will allow a duffer (like myself) a little more room for error. Normal 1 woods (drivers) don't allow much room for error and are difficult to obtain loft and straightness. I would also suggest getting a firm steel shafted club. Don't get graphite because...
