Thanks for the info, it is greatly appreciated. It seems that HP is leading in this effort, and they appear to have levels of the product depending on the application. Ricoh seems to be doing an all or nothing approach, the same with Lexmark. Lexmark has a Global application that has a lot of neat features, the problem lies in the involvment of the local dealer. Lexmark wants to come in and do the analysis and launch of the product and is unwilling to even ball park a price on the solution.

I suggest asking your technical department. Glossy paper is not recommended for the Ricoh products. Try using a silk paper it works great. This tip came from a printer friend of mine which uses the Ricoh's in a pay for print environment.

I lost one with an E-820 to Xerox based on print samples alone (The print samples from the Xerox were from a system that and an additional $10K option installed on it NOT what they bought) now the customer is regretting buying the Xerox. We were lower than Xerox at DMAP6. Remember, you can use DMAP6 cost for Any print for pay customer.

I had a JP8000/TC II launch at a minor league ball park. I think the cost was $50 per person for food, tickets and the conference room. We spent $2,000 and got our Duplicator DSM to cover half in co-op monies. Forty people were invited and about 30 showed. No sales that noght nor the next week, nor the next month, however by the time the quarter was done we had two extra TCII and JP8000 sales. I concentrated with Print 4 Pay Accounts and Copy Shops.
