well Sharp was announcing a number of new dealers recently this could be a play to be a Dealer only org in the US. come to think of it why are OEM's in the business of selling anyways? You would think OEM's would adopt a dealer structure like the Automotive industry.

(Really short version) Once upon a time...back in the day a dealer could get an exclusive for a market. Then dealers figured out that it was a good idea to have two vendors and Mfg's stopped offering exclusives. The solution, open direct operations that can never pick up another line. As far as I know and have seen, if the document being printed is set up on diferent size papers throughout, the machine prints them on the appropriate paper size if that paper is in the machine.

You're better off without them. There are times, like this one, where you are better off firing a customer. I did this to a customer recently that had a color unit and consistently ran the unit out of spec using media way over what was recommended. When we met for an account review they said that I should be ashamed of my service department because of the jams that couldn't be stopped. Well I've used eCopy Desktop's Markup feature to do just that to PDF files, especially brochures, White Papers etc. where I want to highlight an area for a prospect to seriously consider - if thats what you mean. You should be able to get a "NOT FOR RESALE" copy for your business use.

He is wanting to scan in legal documents (such as divorce papers) and make changes to meet his clients terms and send it back to the originating attorney. If they only need to make one change, he would prefer to scan it in, make the one change and send it back, instead of having to re-type the entire document just to make the one change. At least, that's what he told me.
