What are the best options to getting around an "evergreen" clause in a prospects lease contract? Specifically, if the clause renews the contract for 1 full year & they missed the timeframe to provide written notice to cancel? Is the prospect obligated to make every payment? Is there a way for me to win the business without having to refinance that full year of "evergreen" payments into the new lease? Your input would be appreciated. --Garrett

Rules of thumb...sell nothing but the need for an appointment on a phone call or initial call. Also never "sell" during your fact-finding for several reasons: 1.) The fact-finding process gets interrupted or stopped. 2.) You come across like a dog salivating over fresh meat. 3.) You tip your hand and lose some of the thunder you will get from your proposal. 4.) You inspire additional questions and thought processes that the prospect will then discuss with competitors. read the rest in the...

I too am in non metro area and there is a lot of oil and gas here that are not headquartered here so I understand why you ask if they are a local company. However, you are making a huge mistake if you assume that just because they are not local, that they have no control or influence over the equipment they get. Re: 3D Printers & Copy Machines "is there a common thread"?

Old Glory ·
I know your comparison is very conceptual but there really is less commonality than you think. In the beginning copiers needed nothing but an original needing copied and the copier could fill the need. No variance in throughput, no variance in input. With 3D you have a variance in throughput that spans a very large Gamut from plastics to polymers to metals and unlike a copier, the hardware for each is radically different. Then you have the input. You can have a need and a printer and still...
