We only use Great America but i have not seen any disruption. All seems normal with them other than the little caveat that the business must be open and operational at the time of funding. I haven’t seen credit tighten up from them or feel they are any more strict than usual.

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

If I am hearing this right, you have two issues...USB access and driverless/wireless printing. Others have USB printing, we don't. Art you best bet would be to look at Timepayment Corp in MA. You will have to provide personal info and do a personal guarantee. Most of the others listed will shy away from marginal credit.

The leasing company makes money when and if they are paid back, not when they lend the money! The rep is always free to cosign the loan if they think it's a BS issue but I think it would suddenly become a REAL issue at that point. After all, at that point we'd be talking about REAL money, not OPM. The leasing company is just wisely refusing all businesses under two years, then looking at the credit app and seeing that there is basically nothing on the app to support the loan, so they request...

It certainly caused a rather heated conversation between me and one of my customers before we found out about it. In that case, it was really hard to say whose fault the problem was. The MFP was just clicking as it was instructed from the application, but the application was just doing what the file told it to and the file had been made by the MFP. We just agreed to a credit (since they hadn't used color toner in making the print) and changed their drivers back to defaulting to black.

Among many other incentives, Samsung is offering a significant per copier Credit Card reward on both their Colour and Black A3 Models to attract sales reps interest in promoting these products. The products themselves use a mono component toner/developer/drum system with a slightly higher Breakeven cpc. Thanks for the update. Who said they were compatible with MIFARE cards? Magnetic strip cards is what I figured the hotel was using. Those work by a different mechanism. As Vince mentioned you can look at UniFlow but that might be a pricey option. You can also add a credit card/bill/coin-op solution for the business center. This is an easy way for walk up traffic. I had gotten the name of the type of card from the GM and I called the card manufacturer and the Technican I spoke with said the cards were MIFARE. My understanding of the cloud solution would allow guests to login to their google docs or sharepoint account for direct prints. What other options are available? The hotel's mainframe is on a program called OPERA. I like the credit/card/bill/coin-op solution, I hadn't thought about that. Additional food for thought.... Are there any card readers...

Gentlemen, Please proceed with caution here. This reeks of a scam that my previous dealership was burned by. Credit card order is placed for an overseas shipment; Payment is processed (to a stolen card number); Once product has shipped, stolen card number is discovered; dealership has been burned. If it sounds too good to be true; it probably is. Good luck.

Of course they are different. So is Ford Motor and Ford Motor Credit but the same principle applies. Are you suggesting that our accounts receivable can't handle managed network invoices? That Accounts payable can't pay vendors who supply network services hardware? That the warehouse is ill-equipped to inventory equipment and parts if they are to cover our network services responsibilities? Those are the people in common. All I know... I gave the name and address of the company to DLL earlier this year and they turned it down based upon that. I did not have trade references or bank info. At the time I was on risk rating the situation and let it go. I new he was probably not going to be able to do anything until the lease end which is next month, so I just called this week and we meet Monday. I will ask him to fill out a credit app at that time. It is a Sir Speedy.

We have a hard time getting GE to approve Print for Pay customers based upon high risk industry. If they have less then desireable credit then that makes it even tougher. CitiCapital has been able to get some of these pushed through, but with higher rates. Now there is a guy down on the street corner named Guido that might be able to help! Graham

I sold credit card processing for 2 years here in Oklahoma. The way Visa/Mastercard set up their charges to us was: one charge on the total amount of the transaction (our cost was 1.464%) and the other charge was a per transaction charge (our cost was $0.15/transaction). SO, the way the Hotspot printers work (as I understand it) is, you plug them in and give them internet access and there is a label on the front with the printers email address. You email your document to the printer and it prints. You can optionally require that the submitter pay a fee via credit card (provider takes a cut of that)before it prints. So, the service fees for this would cover the email address, not an IP as the printer is sitting on your network, presumably behind firewalls, etc.

thanx, I found this late last night on the ricoh-usa site: Support for third party billing systems — Ricoh is partnering with PrinterOn and WebPay Services Aps (WPS) to enable hosted billing solutions so that the system can count the number of pages, calculate the job cost, and initiate a credit card billing sequence. When sending a job from a PC the service is called WebPay. When sending from a handheld device it is called MobilePay.

Kitz: Not a bad idea, Ricoh may credit us $10 or so for the part and we'd pay $12.00 to ship it back to them. The screen should have been a standard feature and the manufacturers need to stop playing games with MSRP so that the price of the system is in line with others. Adding $189 on the MSRP is not going to hurt any sales n fact it would add sizzle and save dealers and sales people money. Being an option, I would get charged and additional fee to take the old one off and install the new one.

John, we are using buyer zone. A large majority of the leads have been garbage with people wanting to spend anywhere from 100-1000 dollars. If you have a good case as to why a lead didn't work they will credit them. I have had a few leads come through that we have closed big machines that were profitable so for now we are going to continue to use it. We also capped our monthly expenditure at around 600.00. I am going to be making a call today or monday to them. We are either going to cancel it or ask for a better rate. We are not happy with the quality of leads. It seems, like I mentioned, that since they don't have a price threshold most of the ones we get are garbage. I'll update once we have a conversation with them. I think their business model has gone to put every lead through, charge the dealers for them, and then hope when they are bad leads they don't request a credit.

Spoke to buyer zone yesterday and had a nice conversation with the lady about how the leads coming through were garbage and aren't in the business of selling 300.00 mfp's. I told her their biggest mistake was getting rid of the pricing thresholds. She said some of their copier vendors request those garbage 300.00 leads which I find hard to believe. I told her we were going to drop the service unless she did something for us. In the end she said they would credit any lead that we couldn't get...
