Re: What's the weirdest place you've sold a copier to?
About to hit 17 years in the industry now so seen a few.. Sold a scanner to a strip club, I was new to the industry and just a teenager at the time - made the mistake of asking what they wanted to scan Had a "serviced" copier in a massage parlour (inherited the install base so I cant take credit for this) Sold/installed copiers/MFD's to both of the last two Prime Ministers offices/houses Installed a fax machine INSIDE a jail, there was a very dusty gap and some cables on the desk so I asked...

Re: Desktop Shortcut to Scanned Images via store to HDD in scanner
Its pretty strait forward. Default the scanner to Store File to HDD. At the PC create a desktop shortcut to Web Image Monitor. Have customer click on Print Job/Store File -------> Document server. They will be able to download the document. The real problem though is you are encountering a lazy IT guy. Any IT guy worth his salt will help you set up scan to folder.

Re: Oki 1450 vs Ricoh 6700 wide Format
Wow the OKI wide formats! Haven't run across any of these yet. I do remember that Oki bought a minor wide format player a number of years ago. Ah, now I remember, it was the Seiko wide format devices. I need to brush up on this one for you. The first thing I would lead with is how long Ricoh has had the same digital print engine. I believe it to be one of the most reliable engines on the market today. The Ricoh MP W6700 and MP 7100 are identical except that you can add a dual roll feeder to...

Re: Need some help ---Scan Router for Vista 64 Bit
I am having trouble scanning to Vista with the 816mf and it doesn't even need ScanRouter, it is serverless. I posted the problem and got some helpful info as you have about possible firewall or antivirus interference. I also heard that you must set a password in Vista for shared folder - no choice - but I am not sure if that is true yet, need to get back to the customer's office soon to check. Also was told Vista Home was not scanner friendly but there was no explaination for that.

Re: Ricoh W5100
I don't believe you can use the Ratio Scantool without PB. Why can't you use the W5100 with the GW Scanner. I think this is all you need. Also, the WFCS is on the GSA Contract dated July 29, 2009. The product code is 100117FNG for $6,500. You need the "software key" that will allow you to utilize the scanner without having a Ricoh WF attached on the network. The product code is 100257FNG, $4,500 MSRP and the launch date should have been the end of October.

Re: CW2200SP
Just browse through the brochure and documentation for the Canon. The user interface on the MFP is weak. Its a plotter with a scanner (probably a Contex) added. The Ricoh MFP has our standard user interface. Anybody who has a Ricoh MFP of any kind can walk up to this new machine and know exactly how to use it. Would be interesting to see a Monster Garage featuring the two products.

Re: CW2200SP
By the way, one of the connectors between the scanner and main body has to click into place or else the machine will throw an SC 101 code. It is very easy for the tech at set-up to push the connector on and think its set when in fact a good connection is not made unless it actually clicks.

The new 3.0 user interface is much better than Ricohs the CW2200 is going to have a tough time matching up the Canon.

Re: MP 4002SP Blank page detection not working
Yea really, the only good it would do I guess is if you put the originals in face down and instead of accidently having a blank file when you go to look at it you are warned ahead of time. They do have a Canon DR-5020 scanner that after the file is scanned it goes back and deletes all the blank sides. It takes a while of course. So yes, it would almost have to be a third party software solution that would go into a PDF and delete the blanks. I will look and see if Nuance has a solution or if...

Re: HP 4100mfp
Another thing to keep in mind, the HP 4100 MFP is indeed a 4100 with a scanner attached to it. This product is meant to be A PRINTER FIRST and a copier/scanner/fax secondary. If they are looking for it as a copier, they will be in trouble. Looks good on the surface and HP makes an outstanding printer, no doubt about that, but they just are not there yet in the copier biz.

Unfortunately, due to the fact our 1055 does not offer scanning, we are at a disadvantage, but only on the surface. If you have rapport with the office manager and have not dug into their applications deeply, DO SO! I have been very successful with productivity chart comparisons when up against the competition with the same engine speed. By dropping down, you may be able to justify the 1045, and it may not be that much of a difference. For example, look for user walk up for single copies,...

You must add 128 MB. The mainframe comes with 128, but the Printer Kit OR the Printer/Scanner Kit require 256. That means we must add 128. Otherwise all else is fine with what you put in your topic. Make sure you are using DMAP dated 8 April 2003 or later, the Printer/Scanner Kit cost came down to the cost of the Printer Only Kit and the Printer only kit is no longer listed.

Re: P4P WIDE FORMAT COLOR
There are no laser based wide format color systems out there from the major manufacturers. If there are, they are price prohibitive. They can scan the color document and direct it to print on the inkjet printer. No doubt an expensive output solution because it is ink based. Probably looking at the $40,000 range for this one. Re: Scan Router Pro vs Canon e Copy
Using Scan Router (Lite or Pro), it does not get any easier than pressing the Scanner Function Key, then selecting your destination and start. Three key strokes to send a document! Don't think any other MFP can do it more simply. With eCopy there may be a log-on, then you have to scan your document, because they make you preview it, then you open up a mail client to select your recipients ... too many key strokes.
