John, The PrintCopy Tool compares pretty favorably to Plotworks. I attached two documents to this post. The Product Support Guide lists differences between the two products. The PowerPoint has screen shots of all the settings in PrintCopy Tool. I hope this helps.

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

PPT is a state specific issue. There are many states that do not charge PPT. Something to keep in mind if a customer has a 5 yr lease then 3 yrs into the lease the state starts to charge PPT then the customer is stuck and WILL have to pay the PPT. Or vice versa.

Here’s a problem we run into in Maryland: The state does not charge personal property tax, but some (but not all) counties and even municipalities, do. Obviously, each county/municipality has its own tax rates. Yes Jason you can remove every piece of paper the requires a name and address even in a state that you have to carry a registration. You can hold onto the registration but remove the name and address. If you are pulled over to show registration you have the right to tell the officer why you removed the name and address from the registration. Then you can show them a drivers license that will have the required info they are looking for.

I have seen statements on return forms from lease companies that state that the leasee is responsible for securing data that may be on the HDD. Regarding the show, CBS producers get paid to make reports for "good TV". I heard about this HDD concern a few weeks ago in an early morning "tip" from Clark Howard on CNN a few weeks ago. Geesh, almost sounds like a 3-5 program. I've done step leases here in the states, and on the ones I've done the leasing company makes us clearly state to the customer level of payment progression is and the lessee even has to sign off on it.

This is just another marketing sales tool. What there are not showing is the buyout at the lease end. It is always a FMV. KM is using there own leasing arm. If you use a lease factor of .0278 this will show you a 0% interest. We have in state government accounts, what is call a deferred payment lease. This is the state price divided by 36 months. 0 interest, 0 down, 0 buyout at the lease end. But the sell price is fixed.

I believe their copier market went south back in the 80's, the machines never ran like the other brands, You could get a machine like the old 1520 or 1300 to PM to PM but when they came out With the 1530 series and 3030 series they started down hill. What use to make me angry is their technology was state of the art. They were using transfer belts in that first 1530 in the 80's and they developed a lot of other ideas. Assuming that this is a municipal account in the state of New Jersey.....this would be the Kyocera 48-month cost per copy program on state contract. You pretty much can't beat it on price unless you also have the state contract cost per page program. The difference between Perry's 20% flat tax and Cain's 9-9-9 is that Perry's plan does not include a consumption tax (nat'l sales tax). I haven't been comfortable with the fact that Cain's plan would have even the poorest paying a 9% national sales tax on top of their state sales tax. My view of Perry is that he would be capable and is genuinely fiscally and socially conservative. He gets a bad rap for some of what he has had to do regarding illegal immigration but unless you live in a...

Actually, I have been comfortable with this, because if some rich guy goes and buys a 10 million jet, they will pay one million in taxes and if that person afford the jet, I'm sure they can afford the tax. What it comes down to is that it's going to cost money to fix the problem. However everyone needs to pay, it can't be burdened on the middleclass. Assume your most of our customer's do not sell output or produce predominately saddle-stiched output, what is your estimated %-age of reduced revenue? Unless there's a valid reason to set to single-click, don't. If there's an objection use the leased car analogy above (in 33 years that's the first time I've heard that take on the subject) and state you'll check with the leasing company for their "permission" since its their property and they would be liable for the "deceit".

The new machine from any of several competitors will be in place by the time you get back with that permission. Words mean things. Don't attempt to call something "deceit" when it is simply setting a manufacturer provided configuration option. It's a market situation, if the prevailing market (local market or vertical market) dictates single click 11x17, you participate or exit that market.

An interesting note about the above mentioned e2050c in the news release, this might be one of the very first MFPs to offer a SSD (Solid State Drive) as memory storage. I am not quite sure of the advantage of that but Toshiba is the #1 or #2 supplier in the world for SSDs.
