Re: What's the weirdest place you've sold a copier to?
Picking up a signed order in the morning for a Canon color with hole punch and staple, from an Amish farmer-printer. Best two parts of the qualification process was having to run samples of a digital plate to run his offset presses and ensuring the power was in spec to be run off of his diesel generator/alternator set up. Oh yea, and he's got a tow motor we have to use to get it to the second floor. Been selling almost nine years and have been in lots of unique places too. Starbucks roasting...

My Service guys tell me that the Samsungs have been working well! And the new MX series with the Android (OS) Tablet has been very cool. Seems my Blog about the million page test was not that well received with Samsung. They complained to ENX Magazine who then pulled the blog off their site. Whatever happened to FREE Press? They were not happy that I pointed out that they used "x" amount of tree's for a 1980's type test! Since Samsung spends money with ENX, ENX pulled the blogs and is not posting any of my latest stuff. You know what, as far as I'm concerned we here this finance stuff about Sharp, Toshiba and none of the...

It's hard to place an accurate count on the number of trees we lose over a span of time because of the size of the number. Easier to track the loss of areas designated as forests since that highlights the biggest change, usually from nearly 100% of the surface area covered by trees to nearly 0%. The number of trees in a forested acre obviously varies wildly (from about 200 to well over 1,000 per acre), but let's use 500 to start. 500 trees per acre would equal 44 billion trees lost over the...

I received a telephone help call from one of our clients who had a malfunction code on their new copier. To clear these malfunction codes it’s usually a case of opening the front door for a few seconds and then closing it again. I asked the client to do this and then come back to the telephone. He returned a few moments later and asked “now what” I asked what happened when he opened and shut the front door, did it clear the code. “no’ was the reply, “it just got colder in here” He’d opened...

Toshiba manages 17 of 55 nuclear reactors in Japan including at least two of the reactors at the stricken Fukushima plant. The reactors are all made by GE Version 1, which is an old design. Toshiba's share price has declined 26% in the last two days but recently rebounded 5%. Many Japanese workers are being asked to work from home to save electricity and transport. I think the title is a rosey picture, however there are many problems other than the manufacturing plant such as damaged shipping port in Sendai, road infrastructure, and still rolling black outs. Japan does not have the network of roads that we have here in the USA. Toner is still a big issue, and I don't believe what the Japanese government is telling.
