Very curious if this will fly, I'm concerned over how long it took to launch and if there were issues of some sort. We are a Kyocera dealer so we will be hearing more about it soon.

Ever since I saw the name Nozomi I was curious where it came from. I found this on wikipedia Nozomi ( Japanese : のぞみ , lit. "Wish" or "Hope," and known before launch as Planet-B ) was a Mars orbiter that failed to reach Mars due to electrical failures. The mission was terminated on December 31, 2003. John, The PrintCopy Tool compares pretty favorably to Plotworks. I attached two documents to this post. The Product Support Guide lists differences between the two products. The PowerPoint has screen shots of all the settings in PrintCopy Tool. I hope this helps.

I guess he was just referring to the Epson C869R (25 ppm). We kept asking questions about the 100 ppm unit and I lost track which unit this information applied to. Sorry for the confusion. We have a launch on the 11th and he promised more info on the 100 ppm at that time.

Just to be clear, it is an Epson Launch, not a launch of the 100 ppm. He just said that he would know more about the 100 ppm when he came on the 11th.

Re: Color MFP Trends, Tactics, etc

I would agree Art. However, Sharp may have been too bullish regarding how the Frontier line would take off. Back in May Sharp canceled five of the Frontier line's 18 models due to market conditions. Sharp no longer plans to launch DX or MX versions of a planned 50-ppm monochrome MFP and also canceled 31-ppm and 40-ppm color workgroup printers. I'm sure the economy didn't help, but it will be interesting to see how A4 MFPs fare in the 45ppm+ speed bands...

RICOH PRO 907/1107/1357 PRODUCTION PRINTER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. Where do the new Pro Series Production Printers fit in the Ricoh high volume monochrome printer product line? A. The new Pro Series Production Printers are successors to the highly successful Digital Document Publisher models, the DDP70e and the DDP92. Those models were initially brought into the Ricoh product family through the acquisition of Hitachi. Technically, the 70-ppm Digital Document Publisher 70e is being...

Re: Ricoh W5100

Wallin Team ·
I don't believe you can use the Ratio Scantool without PB. Why can't you use the W5100 with the GW Scanner. I think this is all you need. Also, the WFCS is on the GSA Contract dated July 29, 2009. The product code is 100117FNG for $6,500. You need the "software key" that will allow you to utilize the scanner without having a Ricoh WF attached on the network. The product code is 100257FNG, $4,500 MSRP and the launch date should have been the end of October.

Interesting that Ricoh will keep the MP 2550B & MP 3350B in the product line active and only launch the new MFPs in SP and SPF configurations. Do you think that the B-suffix versions will phase out? Anyone know if this will also happen with the MP 4001 and Aficio MP 5001?

Re: Ricoh Introduces the Aficio MP 2851 and MP 3351 Digital Imaging Systems

Dan Morgan ·
They actually did away with offering spf models and the fax option just gets added to the base model, which includes s/p. GIntel's and mmelrod's comments regarding the changes are pretty much the case. Pricing is pretty much the same as the prior models configured as sp models. Yes, the same will hold true for the 40/50 series, not sure how soon to launch though. Attached is the SIG that details all 4 units.

I went to Aficio League InfoCenter and found everything on the new models. The only pricing that has been updated is the MedAssets pricing which also includes pricing for the MP4001SP/MP5001SP so their launch is obviously imminent.

Did Panasonic make their A3 MFPs for anyone else? Were they ever sold under a non-Panasonic label? The color units have a "Fuji" look to them and earlier A3 color units were also sold as Xerox WorkCenters and were from Fuji.

'Rumor has it' that it may be Ricoh, with re-branded Lexmark devices... I wonder what the time frame will be (i.e. launch) ?

Re: The Next One

txeagle24 ·
I confirmed this w/ my Lexmark DSM, but he says that the re-branded models they're providing for Ricoh will not have the same solutions set as the Lexmark systems available through their BSD channel and that they should have a higher CPC. I'm not sure what the launch date is, because it was originally supposed to be first quarter of this year, but maybe my Lanier DSM meant Q1 of their Fiscal Year, which would mean after March.

We sold two copiers recently to a Window & Door Manufacturer. One of the copiers had 4k clicks on it in less than a week so we thought we would have a good revenue stream. I have been thinking about these Label printers so I asked the client about how they use the ones that they already have. I was floored when the client told me that they plan to spend $100k this year on labels alone.

Here's what I heard. 1. Ricoh is not supporting the ratio controllers anymore, due to the fact that they find that thier embedded controller will meet the needs of the AEC market or something close to that effect (I really had to laugh when I heard that) 2. Ratio America which advertises on the P4P forums is selling and support the ratio controller (http://plotbasepm.com/rip_cube) with the rip cube. 3. When configured with the SPDF, these models are known as the LD645CA and LD655CA. Target launch Q1 2011. All other areas of functionality are ...

I think the local dealers biggest advantage against the National vendors is flexibility. Dealers naturally have much shorter chains of command due to having far less employees. Therefore, dealers can make quicker decisions. The National Vendors are always going to have the advantage of price and a lesser concern for profitability. If you cant beat them on price, thow in some change-ups on them. 1.Free Pro Services 2 Free HDD Decommissioning 3.Copy Blocks 4. Throw a "bonus" Office Chair,...

Any dealer educational docs for these like you had for the C5501 family or the new A4s? Those were great! Also, I understand that the MP C2030 was discontinued this week in-line with the C2551/C2051 launch. Seems like that one was a dud, too low end and too close in price to the C2050. Let's wait to see if these may be the best of both worlds. Comparing Ricoh to Canon, both of them are taking their first crack at monochrome A4 MFPs, so while they are competing against one another, they're primarily competing against perception that existing users of products from HP, Lexmark, Samsung & Xerox. From the TCO perspective, these should still blow HP's M4555 out of the water, at least as long as customers are buying OEM cartridges. Ricoh's A4 products will be great for Ricoh...
