So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

The C751 is only spec'd to auto-duplex 256gsm. In my experience, the 300gsm will NOT auto-duplex. Interestingly, I've run heavier weights (up to 350gsm) will few issues, but forget about trying to auto-duplex anything heavier than 256, at all, doesn't work, even a little. The C751 actually WILL do second-side registration, because unlike non-production machines (even those Ricoh has called production in the past), it has a separate registration unit to make sure the paper registers. for those with acess to tessa website the service manual for the machine and the new hugge lct are avaiable for download or were when i last checked last year. Yes, the 240W only counts Linear feet, and the manual says the drum and developer should go about 90,000 l.ft. The corona wire goes 20-30k, drum blade about 40-50k, we regularly get over 100k on the drum, except for damage. There were a few drums 2-3 years ago that would give ghost image problems on large jobs (over 70 sheets). this happened when the drum was a couple years old, but only had 30k ft. Reprographic Technologies has a great drum that I think is superior to the OEM, and costs...

All of the newer manuals are coming in hardcopy. The manuals have the parts/p2p/operators manuals on the parts catalogue disc, however, they've stopped including a PDF of the service manual within that disc for some reason. I've resorted to scanning the hard-bound manuals as they come out to PDF. It's a bit time consuming, but much easier to have than lugging around hardcopy manuals.

Everything said so far is true. I've always heard to look in your Owner's manual and use the octane rating listed there for your car. HOWEVER, in my wife's SUV's owner manual, it says to use 89 Octane gasoline. We did that for a while and then decided to try 87. It ran great with no pinging or hesitation and is still getting great mileage (for an SUV, 20MPG not so bad).

jswinberlin ·
Yeah, the specs say 90lb index through the bypass which would mean manual duplex, but customers hear only what they want and will soon be putting plywood through and complaining that they were told it would work. We have decided to show what 90lb index is to our customers and make sure they know that there is a lot of terminology related to paper, (index, bond, cover, bristol cover, etc...) it would be nice if we could have one standardized term. Also, brochures and reams just list 48lbs.
