I believe that issue was fixed with firmware quite a while ago. If not, the fix I've always used was FTP instead of SMB. FTP takes under a minute to set up on the server and has a wizard to step you through the setup. People usually raise security concern with "opening" FTP, but it is very secure since you can tell FTP to only accept communication from a single IP (the IP of the copier) AND require a username and password. 1. The Chinese government is attempting to hack the US daily. I would have a legitimate concern what is built into the the chips within the device.
