This Week in the Copier Industry 15 Years Ago, The Last Week in September 2003

Art Post ·
Last week was a killer! Not that I sold anything, but I had a golf outing on Monday (did secure a meeting out of that), two full days of training in PA on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday AM I left for the Jersey office and what should have been about 2.5 hours turned into almost 5 hours because one of the major highways was closed in both directions. I had to bird dog my way home on the back roads of eastern PA. Enjoy these threads from 15 years ago this week! New Ricoh Type-H Staple...

Re: Selling Copiers and MFPs "Earning Mental Toughness"

Art Post ·
Wallingford: Thank you! Us old bird dogs can still do, it's just that it's getting a little harder and harder to get those birds out of the bush and into the dinner plate. Younger reps need to learn that they can't give up to easily, it's not easy, but who ever stated that going to work every day was a walk in the park!

What if Mark Zuckerberg and Henry Ford changed birthdays?

Ray Stasieczko (Guest) ·
I was sitting in the lounge at the car dealership a few days ago, waiting on my free oil change. Well, they call it ‘free’ - it was probably included in the price somewhere on line 267 of all that car paperwork. Anyway, the lounge is actually very nice, and everyone waiting with me had at least one thing common. If you’re not sure what that is, please stop reading. Even though my car is not a Ford and my wife’s T-Bird wasn’t ready for an oil change, maybe it was the fact the car dealership...

In each one of the "This Week in the Copier Industry", I'm always looking to add some type of content or tip that would be of value to our members. There's a blog in these threads for "Is There Really a "Natural Born Salesperson"? . I wrote this five years ago and it's still relevant five years later. Lately I haven't had that much to blog about, and over the years I've noticed that sometimes you can go weeks on end and just nothing seems to come to mind. Thus next week I'll start doing some spec reviews on some of the new Ricoh MFP devices. I'll be starting with the new IM 350 and finishing up with the new Ricoh PRO 5160. COVID19 "Remote Working" Day One Hundred of Selling

Art Post ·
COVID19 "Remote Working" Day One Hundred of Selling The thought of 100 business days working remote didn't cross my mind today until I received an email from Tim (Veep of Sales) with a congratulations of hitting the 100 day mark. In ten more days we'll hit the 5 month mark and at least here in NJ there is no end in sight. Yay for 100 days! Yesterday we were hit with a tropical storm Isaias in Jersey. I live right at the coast, the ocean is a mere 10 minute walk. I was sure we would get...

Goodbye, Farewell and Amen

Special thanx to Vince for allowing me to re-post his last blog on his blog site, "the connected copier" . I've known Vince for quite a few years since reading his first blog. I'm thinking that was way back in 2008. There's not that many of us that blog on a regular basis about our industry. In fact I know of four Greg Walters, Ray S , Vince McHugh and myself. Vince has also been a member of the Print4Pay for sometime and always made himself available to answer sales and technical questions...

Ricoh Selling 3260/5560 to Toshiba Art Post (Guest) · 10/17/066:44 PM It's this type of BS that affects our bottom line, it's bad enough that we have to go up against Lanier, Ricoh, Gestetner, Savin, and now Toshiba has the box. I don't mind keeping it in the family however this takes the cake! Guess we are not selling enough boxes for RFG! Art Post IRVINE, Calif., (October 5,...

This Week in the Copier Industry 10 Years Ago

This Week in Copiers Ten Years Ago Second Week of October 2013 Real Copier Sales I had scheduled the last stop of the day about a mile from my home. For almost three years I've been calling, emailing and dropping off production information for a net new account. Three years with nothing, I was beginning to think that the company set up a false DM, had an email account and voice mail account and just dumped all of the sales calls there. But low and behold, I walked in and the DM was..... read...

Achieving Maximum Sales Results in 2024: It's About The Basics.

Larry Levine ·
As we kick off our time off together, I must ask... How much internal fortitude and discipline do you have to soar to new sales heights in 2024? Could you significantly increase your sales results and become even more successful, if with radical consistency you mastered the basics? In referring to the basics, I believe it's about allowing yourself the grace too reset. Without a shadow of a doubt, the basics are ultimately the foundation for disciplines and initiatives. Without the basics,...
