Re: Color MFP Trends, Tactics, etc
I have one of these in the P4P market, after 4 months all seems well and customer is satisfied with media offereing and quality. The one thing that has changed for this unit, since its the same engine as the MPC6000 and MPC7000 is that default from the factory is 11x17 single click and lower consumable costs. Making an inroad will depend on how dealers will position this unit, dealers more than ever can now be competitive with single click 11x17, and if you're going to play in the P4P you...

Re: The Effect Currency Evaluations have on the MFP industry
If you check the price changes between the Aficio C7500/C6000 and C7501/C6501 it may suggest that Ricoh is adjusting for currency rates. The mainframes are up around $4k and $7k respectively and MSPRs for most inherited options are up by about 15%

Re: SCANNER/PRINTER KIT TYPE 7500
I don't think the Connectivity Cafe' will ask you about options that are not mandatory. Besides that, by the time the new model is there, you have already figured everything out. For instance, how long has the W2400 been out? It's still not there and niether is the C6000 so it wouldn't have helped here.

Re: Konica Minolta 6000 Parts availability?
It is extremely rare to have a back order over a week. The C6000 is getting a bit long in the tooth but this usually is not a problem. The part they are looking for may be a weird or wonderful that never had been replaced before.

The model numbers are going to have to change. The C6000, C4500 and C3000 have already been used, at least here in the states.

Re: HP's CM8050/CM8060 Color MFP Poll!
I have seen it demo'd and had a chance to play with one about a year ago. It was bulky and heavy. The insides looked like a front-loaded washing machine. The color display seems to be designed for people who want to reinvent the wheel. The idea of the 5% or less color "same as black" rate sounds good. The text printed is inferior to laser/fuser developed prints. As with everything in this world, you get what you pay for. Give me a MP C4500 or MP C6000 any day and I would run circles around...

Re: Bizhub C652 & TaskAlfa 500ci
Thanks for the feedback. I did a killer demo and had them sold on the Genuine PS3, new User Account Limits app, along with Mail-to-Print and a few other features, but it was not enough to make up the $197 in additional monthly expense for the RFG product versus the Kyocera b/w and Konica-Minolta color that was being proposed by the competition. I think what killed me on pricing was that the LD260c/MP C6000 is over $8,500 per month higher than the LD550c/MP C5000, which equates to more than...

Re: PS3 Emulation vs Genuine Adobe PS3
I brought this topic up earlier, and it was a genuine concern for the prospect, as they are 90% Mac, and their current Canon systems have PS3 Emulation which slows the systems down. However, being that adding the genuine PS3 to each system averaged $1,000 per machine, and the price difference between the MP C5000 & MP C6000, they decided that the pain wasn't great enough to pay an extra $200 per month and went w/ a combination of Konica-Minolta color & Kyocera b/w gear.

Re: Bizhub C652 & TaskAlfa 500ci
Strictly looking at the difference between the MP C6000 and MP C5000, you made the right choice to go with the higher speed model at those volumes. Obviously there is a significant difference in HW price (apples and oranges), but the MP C6000 should have a lower CPP that makes up that difference. Assuming a BW click that is 2 mils cheaper on the MP C6000 and a color click that is a penny cheaper, that equates to a savings of $160, making the monthly delta only $40 vs $200. Am I missing ...

Many of us don't have a "Sammy" option to propose. My 2 cents worth...Those that are familiar with BEI would disagree with the statement that the MPC5000 can't handle 35K B/W and 10K color. For those that don't know, BEI tracks service histories by model nationwide. I no longer have access to BEI but I would bet money that the "sweet spot" for the C5000...that place where the cost to maintain is the lowest per copy, is around the volume you are talking about here. The longest MCBF (Mean...

I've been in the industry for 29 years and worked for 7 different companies. I have represented every manufacturer but Xerox and Sharp (even sold 3M and Saxon copiers). I only say this to suggest that I have pretty much seen it all but one thread has been consistant throughout. Service wants all equipment sold to be new, have a one year history before it's sold, and be located within 10 miles of the office. Of course they think sales would sell anything they can make a buck on and want it to...

Those new FX color 800 and 1000 productions sytems could make a big impact at the high end, given the added toner fuctionality and combined iGen/DC/X700 attributes. Memjet is once again on the horizon and may come out with some interesting consumer level printers, wide format systems, and label making products.

Re: MPC Color Toner Exchange
The attached file is crude and probably in need of updating but it illustrates the progression of model numbers when you read it from left to right. It is incorrect to consider the C3001 to be the replacement for the C3000. The C3000 went to the C3300 which went to the C3501. The C3001 is the newer version of the C2500 which became the C2800. Equally true that the C3501 is not the newer version of the C3500. You may think it is splitting hairs but these distinctions are critical to the...

Re: Envelope Printing
Envelopes are not supported on the C6000/C7500. Why would you want to run envelopes on a 70ppm color device? Sell them a printer in addition, or give them one. It's much cheaper to change a fusing unit in a printer than an MFP.
